SAN MARCOS — Texas State’s 2023 signing class has 24 members after more additions this week.

The Bobcats, who announced 10 transfers last week, added two more players this week, Kansas State tight end Konner Fox and Kilgore College defensive lineman Terry Webb. Houston C.E. King defensive end Jo'Laison Landry committed, but he can't sign until national signing day Feb. 1 because he's a high school prospect.

Fox is Texas State's sixth transfer from a Power Five program, joining Arkansas quarterback Malik Hornsby, Missouri defensive back Darius Jackson, Oklahoma defensive back Josh Easton, Oklahoma defensive lineman Cedric Roberts and Washington State defensive back Kaleb Ford-Dement.

Fox, who is 6 feet 4 and weighs 245 pounds, played four seasons at Kansas State, appearing in six games and making two catches for 9 yards. The San Antonio Reagan graduate entered the portal Dec. 5; he picked Texas State over other reported offers from Louisiana-Monroe, Nevada, Massachusetts, Eastern Kentucky and Central Missouri.

Webb is the fourth junior college player to sign, along with Kilgore running back Donerio Davenport, Navarro College defensive back Michael Boudin II and Southeastern Louisiana defensive lineman Bryce Cage. Webb, who starred at Galveston Ball, recorded 27 tackles and two sacks in 12 games at Kilgore last season. He had offers from Utah State, Arkansas State, Marshall, Hawaii, UTEP, Wyoming and Western Kentucky.

Landry is one of three unsigned players pledged to the Bobcats, along with South Oak Cliff defensive back Taylor Starling and Kilgore linebacker Derrick Mourning. The Bobcats have four signed high school prospects: Mesquite Horn receiver Chris Dawn Jr., Horn safety Amarion Atwood, Mansfield Timberview offensive lineman Bami Badusi and Frisco Independence tight end Jake Simpson.

Landry committed to Utah last June before withdrawing his pledge in November. He has reported offers from Washington State, UNLV, UTSA, Tulane, North Texas, Louisiana and SMU.

The Bobcats have signed seven Incarnate Word transfers after adding safety Kaleb Culp last Friday. Culp joins receiver and return man Kole Wilson and offensive linemen Nash Jones, Dorion Strawn, Caleb Johnson, Emeka Obigbo and Jimeto Obigbo.

Basketball: The women’s team is in fourth place in the Sun Belt standings after winning three straight games. The men's team, however, dropped below .500 in conference play this week.

After wins at home last week over Georgia State and Arkansas State, the Texas State women (13-5, 5-2 Sun Belt) narrowly missed a third consecutive double-digit victory with a 65-57 win at Louisiana-Monroe. The Bobcats will visit South Alabama (4-14, 0-7) Saturday.

The men’s team (10-10, 3-4) has lost two straight — 61-58 at ULM last Saturday and 81-73 at home to Marshall on Thursday. The Bobcats will host Louisiana (15-4, 5-2) Saturday.

Texas State will celebrate the 1997 Southland championship team Saturday and will rename the court in honor of Jeff Foster, a 13-year NBA player with the Indiana Pacers. The 1997 team finished 11-0 at home and earned a berth in the NCAA Tournament. Foster’s No. 42 has been retired since 2013.
