Texas Supreme Court denies review in sex assault suit against Cowboys owner Jerry Jones

The Supreme Court of Texas last week denied a review petition filed by Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones in connection with a lawsuit that accuses him of sexual assaulting a woman, according to The Dallas Morning News.
The lawsuit was filed in September 2020 and was in February 2022 dismissed in the 160th District Court in Dallas County. A state appellate court reversed the dismissal in February, The Morning News reported. The supreme court’s Sept. 1 review denial responds to Jones’ appeal in May.
The plaintiff is identified in briefs as J.G. She alleges Jones assaulted her in the Tom Landry Room at AT&T Stadium on Sept. 16, 2018. The plaintiff alleges Jones “kissed her on the mouth and forcibly grabbed her without her consent,” according to The Morning News.
Jones and The Dallas Cowboys Football Club Ltd. are the defendants in the lawsuit.
The plaintiff alleges she suffered “severe emotional distress,” “psychological pain and suffering” and medical expenses, according to The Morning News.
Jones has denied the allegations.
