Texas Tech blanked from preseason All-Big 12 football team

No Texas Tech players were selected to the preseason All-Big 12 football team, which was announced by the conference on Wednesday.

A total of 29 players were selected to the preseason squad between offense, defense and special teams players. Tech was the only school to have zero representatives on the preseason All-Big 12 team.

Texas junior running back Bijan Robinson headlined the preseason squad by being named the conference's preseason Offensive Player of the Year. Kansas State defensive lineman Felix Anudike-Uzomah is the preseason Defensive Player of the Year and Oklahoma quarterback Dillion Gabriel was selected as the Newcomer of the Year.

Running backs Deuce Vaughn of Kansas State and Robinson were the lone unanimous selections to the preseason squad. Selections by school were Kansas State, 6; Baylor, 5; Iowa State and West Virginia, 4; Texas and Oklahoma State, 3; TCU, 2; Oklahoma and Kansas 1.

Four Red Raiders will be joining head coach Joey McGuire at Big 12 Media Days next Thursday. Making the trip to Arlington will be senior defensive back Dadrion Taylor-Demerson, senior defensive lineman Tyree Wilson, junior wide receiver Myles Price and junior offensive lineman Caleb Rogers.

Media Days begin on Wednesday with Texas Tech joining Oklahoma, Iowa State, TCU and Texas for Thursday's session at AT&T Stadium. McGuire is scheduled to speak to the media from 11:05-11:25 a.m. in a press conference that will be televised on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.
