Texas Tech will pay Matt Braeuer $385,000 a year and Achoki Moikobu $250,000 annually, according to offer letters the two new men's assistant basketball coaches signed on April 4 to join Grant McCasland's charter staff.

Tech provided the documents to the Avalanche-Journal in response to an open-records request.

Tech is making payments of $20,000 each, less taxes, to the two new assistants within 45 days to cover their moving expenses. Both agree to repay all or portions of their relocation payment if they voluntarily leave the Tech staff within six months, nine months or one year.

Each also receives employment perks of a $5,000 annual vehicle allowance, eligibility for postseason bonuses and eligibility for Under Armour's discount program and apparel allotment.

The relocation payments, vehicle allowances, bonus opportunities and eligibility for the Under Armour VIP program are common in Tech coaches' contracts.

Tech announced McCasland's hire on March 31 and announced the hires of Braeuer and Moikobu on April 7. All three men worked together this past season at North Texas, leading the Mean Green to a 31-7 record and the championship of the National Invitation Tournament.

In their playing days, Braeuer was a 5-foot-11 guard at Wichita State and Moikobu was a 6-1 guard at Yuba (Calif.) College and Fort Hays State. Brauer was a Class 5A all-state player at Belton and Moikobu went to high school in Renton, Washington.
