Texas Tech sells out of 6,000 Texas Bowl tickets

Texas Tech Athletics on Thursday announced it sold all 6,000 game tickets it received for the TaxAct Texas Bowl Game at NRG Stadium.

According to Tech Athletics, 400 students could purchase discounted tickets, with 4,100 tickets being sold to season ticketholders who could purchase tickets in advance. The tickets went on sale Wednesday, prompting a large line in front of Tech's athletic ticket office even under drizzly conditions.

Tech is encouraging fans who still want tickets to go to Stubhub or TaxActTexasBowl.com to buy game tickets.

Fans can also apply to become a 2023 season ticket holder, according to Athletics, which is currently accepting a deposit of $50.

Tech is football is set to take on Ole Miss in the Texas Bowl at 8 p.m. Dec. 28 at NRG Stadium in Houston. The Red Raiders will be the visiting team against the Rebels and will be located on the east sideline.
