Texas teen accused of spitting in tea bottle and putting it back, police say

EL PASO, Texas – Police arrested a 15-year-old boy on suspicion of spitting in an Arizona Tea bottle and putting it back on the shelf, according to CB7.

The local news outlet reported that it happened at an Albertsons grocery store in Odessa, Texas.

According to the affidavit, the teenager was seen on security footage picking up an Arizona Iced Tea, putting his mouth on it, then putting it back.

The police officer said the teen repeatedly told him that he took a drink of the tea, then put it back, because it was "gross."

2019 has seen a number of Texans gain viral fame for doing weird and often disturbing things with food and drinks, including licking ice cream and drinking wine from a Pringles can.

Woman licks tub of Blue Bell ice cream, then puts it back in the store freezer

A video posted in June of a woman appearing to lick a tub of Blue Bell ice cream before putting it back in a grocery store freezer attracted the attention of millions, including Blue Bell Creameries.

The video was posted by user "Optimus Primal," with the caption, "What kinda psychopathic behavior is this?!" has been viewed more than 13 million times. It's been retweeted more than 29,000 times and liked more than 69,000 times.

Texas police believe they have identified and spoken to a juvenile who was shown in a viral video.

The Lufkin Police Department will not release the suspect's name, citing anonymity laws for juvenile offenders, according to a statement sent to USA TODAY. The case is now being transferred to the Texas Juvenile Justice Department.

The suspect is from San Antonio and has ties to the Lufkin, Texas, area through her boyfriend's family, the statement said.

The Lufkin Police Department was contacted Wednesday by Blue Bell Creameries after the Texas-based company "instructed all of its division managers to see if they could identify the store location" where the incident took place, the police department said via Facebook.

Woman banned from Walmart for eating cake

Wichita Falls police banned a woman from Walmart after she reportedly ate half a cake and refused to pay for the other half.

Wichita Falls Police Department spokesman Officer Jeff Hughes said officers responded to a theft call June 25 shortly after 8 p.m. at the Walmart located on Greenbriar Road, where they received a report of a woman who had entered the store, ate half of a cake and refused to pay for the other half.

Hughes said the woman was banned from the store by police for the theft.

Woman riding cart, drinking wine from Pringles can barred from Walmart

In January, Wichita Falls police received a unique call involving a woman drinking wine in a Walmart parking lot.

Employees requested officers ban a woman from the local Walmart after she reportedly had been drinking wine from a Pringles can for several hours.

Officer Jeff Hughes, a WFPD spokesperson, said police were told by dispatchers that they were looking for a woman wearing a blue jacket and black pants.

The woman was reportedly riding on an electric shopping cart more commonly used for people with physical limitations.

When officers arrived, they found the woman in a nearby restaurant, at which point she was notified that she had been barred from the Walmart location.
