A Texas woman was allegedly shot and killed by an abusive boyfriend, who then turned the firearm on himself, just days after the pair agreed to rekindle their relationship.

Itzell Sanchez was found dead on the ground by the passenger side of a black Ford Mustang in Houston around 1:20 a.m. Thursday, the Houston Police Department said in a statement. A 21-year male was also found dead from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound, with a gun in his lap.

The suspect has not been named, but Sanchez’s mother, Claudia, told ABC13 her 24-year-old daughter had been in an abusive relationship with the man who killed her.

“He would hit her and make her feel guilty for hitting her,” she said. “We kept telling my daughter to stay away from this guy, he’s not good.”

Just two days before Sanchez was killed, her mother said she was visited by her daughter, who revealed she planned to reconcile with her boyfriend.

A GoFundMe page has been launched to help the Sanchez family with funeral expenses. As of Friday afternoon, the page has raised more than $12,000 of a 15,000 goal.
