"Thanks-giving" meeting of Christian Women's Connection to include auction, speakers

In this month of remembering to be thankful, there will be an opportunity to do that at the "Share Your Blessings" luncheon meeting of Christian Women's Connection on Tuesday, Nov. 14, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the DoubleTree Hotel in Oak Ridge, 215 S. Illinois Aven.

All area women and their guests are invited to attend. The program will feature Cathy Simes, who is president and program director for Amvets Ladies Auxiliary 2 of the Oak Ridge post. She will be sharing about their mission and programs, and highlighting some of their recent projects, according to a news release.

There will be an auction conducted by local auctioneer William "Bear" Stephenson. The auction will be of various baked goods and other miscellaneous items donated for sale. For those who will be bringing items, please label and attach a suggested price.

Following all this excitement will be the inspirational speaker for the day, Cindy Leihkauff. Cindy is the Southeast Regional Speaker Trainer for Stonecroft Ministries. She is a retired teacher from Clinton who shares her message through writing, singing, storytelling, and acting. She will be sharing a new story.
