Texas couldn't hold onto its second-half lead and lost to Miami 88-81 in the Elite Eight.
The Longhorns were the highest remaining seed in the tournament, but now the Final Four is made up of No. 5 Miami, No. 4 UConn, No. 5 San Diego State and No. 9 Florida Atlantic.
It's only the second time in NCAA history featuring a Final Four with no No. 1 seeds.
The heartbreaking loss spurred reaction from former Longhorns players Kevin Durant and LaMarcus Aldridge and other Texas fans on Twitter:
Great season @TexasMBB….we love y’all boys, thanks for a memorable year!!!

So proud of our guys this year. Overcame bs, made it to the Elite 8 with an interim coach, and made Texas history. Sad for them we couldn’t get to the Final 4, but love these guys and their heart. 🧡#HOOKEM🤘🏼 #TexasMBB🏀 pic.twitter.com/0NUvu7xPp8
