Cooking is a hassle any day of the week, but it's even more so when you know you've got Thanksgiving dinner to cook. Those hefty turkeys won't cook themselves, and good turkey takes time and preparation to get right. So, what if you let someone else do it for you?

Our list of Thanksgiving meals to go features about a dozen restaurants that will take the hassle of cooking off your plate and fill it with delicious foods instead.

Four Seasons Catering and Eatery

Four Seasons, for the first time, will offer Thanksgiving dinners to take home that include options for roasted or smoked turkey, each weighing about 12 pounds. Meals will include your choice of turkey and three sides -- enough to feed eight to 10 people. Side options include macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes with turkey giblet gravy, sweet potato casserole (with or without a pecan topping), green bean casserole and cornbread dressing. The roasted turkey meal is $110, and the smoked turkey is $135.

Orders can be placed now between 1:30 and 3 p.m. until Nov. 17. Customers can pick up their food on Nov. 24. Orders are first come, first serve, and there are only about 100 meals available. Call 850-434-6771 to order.

Karen's Cafe and Catering

Karen's is offering a variety of different-sized carryout options this year. The standard dinner package includes a 20-pound turkey, dressing, choice of two sides and a whole pie of choice and is fit to feed 10 people. The dinner package is priced at $199.99. Individual dinners can be purchased for about $19.95 per person and includes your choice between turkey, ham, sides and a dinner roll.

Orders can be placed by calling the café at 850-495-3884 and can be picked up on Nov. 24.

850 Barbecue

850 Barbecue is back with its Thanksgiving meat specials for the third year in a row. Boneless, skinless turkey breast ($60 per breast) and prime brisket ($24/pound) are already available to order.

The turkey breasts are jumbo size and can feed up to 20 people, depending on how its sliced, according to 850 Barbecue. Each breast will be brined with a made-from-scratch blend of spices and citrus for 24 hours before its rubbed down with an in-house barbecue sauce. Afterward, the meat will be smoked to perfection with oak wood.

The prime brisket is similarly smoked using oak wood for about 8 to 10 hours. Each brisket is cooked until it hits an internal temperature of 165 degrees. Afterward, it’s pulled and set to rest at about 150 degrees for six hours, giving it a tender and moist final product. Whole briskets average between six and nine pounds. Sizes aren’t guaranteed.

Call 850-449-4720 to place an order. There is a $100 deposit due when placing an order for brisket, and the full due must be paid upon pickup. A full payment for turkey must be placed upon order. All orders will be ready for pickup on Thanksgiving day at 10 a.m.

The Butcher Shoppe

The Butcher Shoppe is taking pre-orders for boneless chicken breasts and Joyce Farms Heritage Black turkeys to be picked up on the week of Thanksgiving. The Joyce Farms turkeys are skin-on and come wrapped in breast lobe packs that run about 10 to 12 pounds each and cost $7.99 per pound.

The Meat Candy BBQ

The Meat Candy BBQ is hosting a special Thanksgiving menu featuring a la carte sides with turkey and smoked ham.

Turkey prices are $70 for 10 to 15 pounds, $85 for 15 to 20 pounds and $100 for 20+ pounds. The turkey will be brined for 24 hours, injected and smoked or fried. Hams are $75 for 4 to 8 pounds, $90 for 8 to 12 pounds and $110 for 12+ pounds.

Side options include green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, smashed potatoes, potato salad, mac and cheese, their "almost-famous coleslaw" and more. And last but not least, the food truck will be doing cheesecakes this year. Flavors include plain, pumpkin, key lime pie, strawberry compote, blueberry compote and raspberry compote. From the Crown Catering

From the Crown Catering is taking orders for smoked or fried turkeys, smoked hams and more. Turkey can be bought and prepared traditionally, Cajun-style or fried for $40, $60 and $60, respectively. Specialty meats like smoked brisket ($180), roasted lamb crown ($150), honey glazed ham ($60) and Cornish hens ($45) are available. Sides are $40 each and include macaroni and cheese, candied yams, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans, dressing, roasted Brussels sprouts, cabbage and harvest veggie medley.

Full course meals are available for $200 and includes one protein, four sides and dinner rolls. Pricing varies with specialty meats. Contact chef M. Arnette at 850-490-9233 to order.

Restaurant Iron

Restaurant Iron is offering to handle the sides for Thanksgiving this year. The restaurant is offering up four sides to choose, oyster mushroom stuffing ($28), green bean casserole ($24), Susan’s fried green tomato casserole ($24) and macaroni and cheese ($25). Gravy, creole seasoning and a couple of desserts are also available for order. Each item serves four adults, unless otherwise stated.

Café NOLA

Café NOLA released its Thanksgiving catering menu and is taking orders now until Nov. 16. The extensive menu features appetizers, gumbo, salad, bread, entrees, sides and dessert. Entrees include whole Cajun fried turkey, red beans and rice, jambalaya, crawfish etouffee, prime rib, beef tenderloin, and pineapple and brown sugar glazed spiral ham.

The whole turkeys are $75 and are between 13 and 14 pounds. Only 150 turkeys are available and it’s first come, first served. Pick up will be available at Cafe NOLA on Nov. 22-23. Call 850-677-8532 to order.

VooDoo BBQ

VooDoo BBQ has started taking orders for its Thanksgiving feast. The meal includes a whole smoked turkey, cornbread dressing, turkey gravy, cranberry sauce and a choice of additional side. There are two options to choose between: a feast that serves 12 is $159.99 and a feast that feeds six is $115.99. Call 850-912-8111 to order.

Sonny’s BBQ

Sonny’s BBQ is serving Thanksgiving feasts to-go for just $89.99 — and they’re big enough to feed 10 people. The feast includes options between a spiral-cut honey-glazed ham and smoked turkey breast. Each comes with your choice of three sides and homemade cornbread or French bread. The turkey meal will also include cranberry sauce and turkey gravy.

A la carte meats can be ordered along with sides. The ham is $44.99 while the turkey is $39.99. Sonny’s will also carve ham or turkey for $10. A la carte side items are available for $17.99 each and include corn, sweet potato casserole, mashed potatoes, cornbread stuffing, potato salad and more. Call 850-476-7618 to place an order.

Great Southern Restaurants

Great Southern Restaurants will be offering a full Thanksgiving Dinner Grab and Go package featuring its sister restaurant, Five Sisters Blues Café. The package is based on six people with additional orders available in increments of six.

The Thanksgiving Meal includes a six pound split turkey, green bean casserole, garlic mashed potatoes, cornbread dressing, cranberry sauce, brown gravy and dinner rolls.

The six-person package is $85 plus tax. Orders are being taken now and can be placed until noon on Nov. 21. Pickups will be available on Nov. 23, from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. The meal will be fully cooked and will include reheating directions.

Cracker Barrel

When it comes to Thanksgiving, Cracker Barrel isn’t messing around. The chain restaurant is offering two complete dinners that are ready to serve in two hours. Each offering comes in various sizes to fit your family’s needs and there are a la carte options, too.

The Heat n’ Serve option comes with an over-roasted turkey breast, cornbread dressing, turkey gravy, cranberry relish, sweet potato casserole, a country side and sweet yeast rolls. This serves four to six people, but can be upsized to feed eight to 10.

The Hot and Ready dinner needs no preparation at all — it comes ready to serve. This dinner includes turkey, dressing, gravy, cranberry relish, green beans, macaroni, sweet potato casserole, sweet yeast roles and pumpkin pie.
