Thanksgiving confirms UK digital release date

A festive treat will soon be available to watch from the comfort of your home as Eli Roth's Thanksgiving lands a UK digital release.
The slasher can be pre-ordered on Amazon and other platforms now in time for its home premiere of January 1, 2024.
Released in cinemas in November, Thanksgiving sees tragedy strike in the town of Plymouth, Massachusetts, where the holiday originated. In present-day Plymouth, a killer wearing a John Carver outfit wreaks havoc on the one-year anniversary of a Black Friday riot at a local superstore.

Written by Jeff Rendell based on a story by Rendell and Roth, the slasher stars Grey's Anatomy's Patrick Dempsey as the town's sheriff Eric Newlon and Nell Verlaque as protagonist Jessica Wright, the daughter of the RightMart where a stampede occurred one year prior. Addison Rae, Milo Manheim, Jalen Thomas Brooks, Rick Hoffman and Gina Gershon also feature in supporting roles.
After debuting in theatres last month, the horror was praised from critics for its gory scenes, fun kills and Roth's pulp vision.
These elements earned the film a sequel, set for a 2025 release. Celebrating the news, Roth announced he'd start work on a script immediately.

"Thank you to everyone who supported ORIGINAL HORROR in theaters!!!" he captioned a video on Instagram in early December.
"Go see it now on the big screen while it's in cinemas, sequel set for release in 2025! Taking a year to really get the script right, working on it starting today!"
Thanksgiving is available to rent and buy on several platforms for a January 1, 2024 home release in the UK. Thanksgiving 2 doesn't have a release date yet.
