Thanksgiving guide: Where to dine out, order turkeys, sides, pies & more in Lexington

Thanksgiving, and the extended holiday season, is nearly upon us.

Before you go into panic mode, here’s a guide and list of places to go for holiday help, whether you are looking for an open restaurant to dine in, someplace to buy from that will cook the entire meal for you to take home, or you just need someone to handle the turkey or the pie.

And if this is your first time handling the cooking yourself (or if you just want to know lots of ways to do things easier), check out Lexington cookbook author Barbara Harper Bach’s updated Turkey Clinic. It’s chock full of holiday recipes and meal planning tips. It’s available online at bluegrasscookingclinic.com and at the My Favorite Things, 2721 Old Rosebud Rd. in Hamburg.

If you’re looking for places to buy local turkey, ham, veggies, breads and more, check out the vendors at Lexington Farmers Market before Thanksgiving.
