Thanksgiving holiday alters trash collection schedule in Bucks County. What to know

With many Bucks County residents enjoying an extended Thanksgiving holiday weekend, private residential and municipal trash collection will be on holiday as well.

That means Bucks County residents who usually haul trash to the curb for Thursday removal will need to delay putting out the trash, in some cases until next week.

Here's what to know about altered trash collection in Bucks County, and how to find out when your trash collection company is collecting trash.

Middletown to resume trash collection next week

Middletown administration announced that its usual Thursday trash collection cycle will be skipped this week, and will resume on Monday, when it will be picked up.

Double trash, up to 20 containers, may be put out for collection on Monday, officials said. Collection on any other day will not be interrupted.

"If you experience any issues with your trash collection, please call Waste Management at 1-800-255-8479. When calling, say you are from 'Middletown Township, Bucks County'.”

The Middletown Township Municipal Center will be also be closed on Thursday and Friday.

Middletown is one of only a handful of municipalities in Bucks County that provide trash collection free of charge to its residents, while most other Bucks County residents need to pay for private trash hauling. Here's list of a few of the main trash haulers in Bucks County and how to contact them:

  • EnviroGreen: offices closed on Thanksgiving, no trash/recyclables pick-up, regular service resumes next week. 215-343-1662.

  • Leck Waste Services: offices closed on Thanksgiving, no trash/recyclables pick-up. 215-675-8000.

  • Republic Services: offices closed on Thanksgiving, no trash/recyclables pick-up. 610-265-6337.

  • Waste Management: offices closed on Thanksgiving, no trash/recyclables pick-up. Fairless Hills center: 866-909-4458.

Whitetail Disposal will be closed on Thanksgiving. Whitetail noted on its website that Thursday services will be completed on Friday, and Friday services will be completed on Saturday.
