The ‘David Gest’s Not Dead’ Tour Lives On... Despite Reality TV Entertainer’s Death

David Gest is definitely no longer with us.

But Variety shows set up by the entertainer – called David Gest Is Not Dead But Alive With Soul – are still going ahead over the summer.

Pals say the shows will be used a tribute to the 62-year-old – found dead yesterday morning at a five-star hotel – and insisted they are not a cynical way to cash in on the publicity surrounding his passing.

A friend of Gest’s told The Sun: “His friends want the tour to be a tribute. David could laugh at himself.”

The title came from a mix-up in the Big Brother House in January after Angie Bowie was told of the death of her ex-husband David.

She shared the news with fellow housemate Tiffany Pollard, but the US reality loudmouth thought she was referring to Gest, who was lying sick in bed in the next room.

One poster for the 24-date tour, below, shows him posing in a coffin with the words: ‘David Gest Born 11.5.1953. Died in the CBB House 11.1.2016.’

It’s emerged Gest, once married to Liza Minnelli, may have been alone for his last 48 hours in the Four Seasons hotel at London’s Canary Wharf.

Some pals have claimed he may have been strung out on sleeping pills – like his friend Michael Jackson who died in 2009 from an overdose of hospital tranquiliser propofol.

Fellow reality TV stars have paid tribute to Gest, with Celebrity Big Brother pal Darren Day tweeting a snap of the pair and writing: ‘I’m devastated. I love and miss you, mate.’

I’m A Celeb co-star Dean Gaffney tweeted: ‘RIP, I love you brother.’
