The Duchess Of Cambridge Nails Off-Duty Dressing – But It Comes At A Cost

Most of us go shopping in an ensemble that’s basically a mash-up of high-street buys. But not the Duchess of Cambridge.

The mum-of-two, who’s always well dressed, may head to the shops in leggings and trainers like the rest of us, but the rest of her off-duty gear costs a tad more than we paid for ours. OK, a lot more.

Snapped during a shopping trip on King’s Road in London this weekend, Kate sported the perfect mad-dash-around-the-shops look. Teaming her leggings and Asics trainers with a black gilet, chunky knit roll neck and a leather handbag, she *almost* looked like any other Londoner – with the expectation of the fact that she’s, you know, royal and that.

Giving us a lesson in pairing sportswear with designer items, the Duchess teamed a £1,250 leather and suede gilet with a £395 roll neck – both by British design label Temperley London. The brand, which showed at London Fashion Week last night, is a firm favourite of Kate’s and she’s worn designs from the designer numerous times.

She added to her look with a £1,013 grey leather bag from Tod’s and, like usual, had her £295 Annoushka pearl earrings in.

It’s a welcome change seeing the Duchess in a laid-back look like this one, as we’re normally scrambling around to find out which brands designed her formal attire that she so regularly dons for royal engagements and events. And this is another example of how Kate loves to mix high-end buys with high-street ones.

Just last week, she paired a Reiss blouse with a Dolce & Gabbana skirt when taking on the role of Guest Editor at Huffington Post UK.

Too conservative? As she’s only 34, some of the Duchess’ fans would like to see her dress in some more youthful styles. [Photo: Getty]

She was also pictured at a ceremony marking the end of the RAF Search and Rescue Force operations.

Once again, the 34-year-old opted for a very conservative look and recycled an LK Bennett favourite for her return to Anglesey in North Wales.
