Sony Pictures has confirmed the next movie in the ‘21/22 Jump Street’ franchise will be a crossover with the moribund ‘Men In Black’ series, and it’s been tentatively titled ‘MIB 23′.

The studio confirmed the mash up movie was in development while presenting its upcoming slate CinemaCon, the movie industry’s convention for cinema owners happening right now in Las Vegas.

Comicbook.com managed to grab a snap of the film’s title treatment below.

Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill will return as undercover cops Schmidt and Jenko, but it’s thought that ‘Men In Black’ stars Will Smith or Tommy Lee Jones will not be involved.

There’s relatively little information about the film at the moment but, according to Variety, ‘Muppets Most Wanted’ and ‘Alice Through The Looking Glass’ director James Bobin will replace ‘21/22 Jump Street’ directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller behind the camera for the film which is scheduled to shoot this summer. Lord and Miller are currently tied up prepping the Han Solo ‘Star Wars’ anthology film.

‘22 Jump Street’ and ‘Grudge Match’ screenwriter Rodney Rothman has written the script.

It’ll be interesting to see whether they aim for the more adult 15-rated ‘Jump Street’ audience, or the more family friendly PG-rated ‘Men In Black’ crowd. Our guess is the former as it’d be a shame to see Tatum and Hill watering down their shtick for the kids.

‘MIB 23′ has no release date yet.
