The Kate Effect Goes Global: Is Princess Victoria Of Sweden Copying The Duchess Of Cambridge’s Style?

The Duchess of Cambridge’s flawless style has inspired women all over the UK and now it looks like her fashion sense is being copied by royals, too. Give yourself a pat on the back, Kate.
The Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden has been photographed wearing a midnight blue maternity dress that Duchess Kate has worn previously.
The pleated midi dress, from British maternity brand Seraphine, was worn by Kate when she was pregnant with Charlotte and is clearly a frock fit for a princess.

The Swedish heir to the throne, who’s pregnant with her second child, wore the £99 dress to a ceremony celebrating the Nobel Peace Prize winners at the palace in Stockholm, accompanied by her father King Carl XVI Gustaf.
Just like Kate, Princess Victoria kept her accessories to a minimal and donned a pair of suede court shoes. The dress is also very similar to the ISSA London one that the Duchess wore in her infamous engagement photos – and has since been spotted on Caitlyn Jenner.

Kate’s worn pieces from the maternity brand, which is both relatively affordable and elegant, numerous times throughout her two pregnancies. After Prince George’s birth, she left the hospital wearing one of the brand’s summer dresses and then opted to wear a fuchsia style for her first family photos with her son – taken by her father Michael Middleton in their back garden.

Since then, she’s stepped out in a number of other pieces from the label’s various collections, including coats, printed dresses and a streamlined black roll neck dress that she wore during a state visit to New York last year.
