'The Masked Singer' season 3 characters unveiled in full

Fans of The Masked Singer can expect the likes of a Traffic Cone, Chandelier and Mushroom to appear in the upcoming third series.

ITV has announced the brand new costumes the singing celebrities indentities will be hidden by when the programme returns to screens in 2022, and it appears they are more imaginative than ever.

This time around a tribute to Scotland will grace the stage as Bagpipes will perform alongside stars donning costumes for sea creature Lionfish and sweet treat Doughnuts.

Also hoping to enter the contest with a bang is Firework who could go up against mash-up creation Robobunny, or Poodle, who’ll surely want to be best in show.

Snow Leopard is also putting their best paw forward, while Rockhopper must have dreams of peng-winning too.

It’s up to the judges to try and determine who is really behind the masks, with Davina McCall, Rita Ora, Jonathan Ross and Mo Gilligan returning to play the guessing game as Joel Dommett hosts once again.

As well as using the vocals of the stars to try and find out the truth, the judges are also provided with complex clues that can hint toward who the characters really are.

One by one the contestants are eliminated, but before they go they must reveal their true identity by revealing their face.

Singer Joss Stone won the second series of the programme disguised as Sausage while Queen Bee, aka Girls Aloud star Nicola Roberts, took the crown in the first ever UK season.

The show, which is based off a format that first began in South Korea, has also produced a Masked Dancer spin-off.

The first series aired earlier this year with Olympic gymnast Louis Smith proving triumphant over his competitors.

Strictly Come Dancing professional Oti Mabuse brought her expertise to the panel where she judged alongside McCall, Ross and Gilligan.
