'The Real' co-host disses Charlize Theron for rejecting Wonder Woman's mom role: 'Women are way too sensitive about age'

The Real got, well, real when co-host Jeannie Mai dissed actress Charlize Theron for being insulted that she was offered the role of Wonder Woman’s mother.

Theron revealed she turned down the part during an interview with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live, saying “this is a good example of how Hollywood slaps you in the face when you start aging.” Theron is just 9 years older than Gal Gadot, the actress who would have been playing her daughter. Mai’s thoughts? “I think that we women are way too sensitive about age and getting older.”

Mai’s co-host Adrienne Houghton agreed: “I don’t think someone’s always trying to insult you if they’re asking you to play older. Older doesn’t mean worse,’ she said. Fellow panelist Loni Love felt that younger actresses asked to play older characters were taking away jobs from people who are actually age-appropriate. ‘The problem is there are 50 year old and 60 year old actresses who can’t get the job. So it’s a casting issue.”

Viewers on Twitter were split on Theron’s reaction.

And one viewer of The Real even reminded Houghton that not all people over 50 look old:
