Tom Parker is organising a concert to raise money for the fight against cancer, as he continues to battle a brain tumour.

The Wanted singer – who revealed last year that he had been diagnosed with an inoperable tumour – said he has got some “truly amazing artists” lined up to appear at the gig at the Royal Albert Hall in London in September.

Announcing the event on Instagram, he wrote: “You may have heard I’ve been filming a documentary for Channel 4 titled ‘Tom Parker, Inside my Head’. Well now I’m very proud to announce ‘Tom Parker, Inside My Head - The Concert’ at The Royal Albert Hall on Monday September 20th.

“I’ve got some truly amazing artists lined up to perform, it’s going to be a very special night.”

The concert is being hosted by radio DJs Roman Kemp and Sonny Jay and all proceeds will go to Stand Up To Cancer and The National Brain Appeal, to help fund vital research into new treatment for brain tumours in the UK.

“Thank you all so much for your support and I can’t wait to see you all there,” added Parker, 32.

The star shared in October 2020 that he had been diagnosed with “inoperable” stage-four glioblastoma while his wife was pregnant with their second child.

Earlier this year he said that, following treatment, he had been told there had been a significant reduction in the size of his tumour.

Parker announced last month that he is making a documentary about his brain cancer battle. Posting the news to Instagram, the father-of-two said the programme was for Channel 4 and its Stand Up 2 Cancer programming.

Tickets for the concert are on sale on Friday.
