Theater, art, music and more: Canton Cultural Council accepting grant proposals

CANTON – The Canton Cultural Council is seeking proposals for community oriented arts, humanities and science programs. Proposals are due Oct. 17.

The grants can support a variety of artistic projects and activities in Canton including exhibits, festivals, field trips, artist residencies, or performances. All projects must have a direct benefit to the town.

Last year the council awarded more than $8,000 in grants to 18 to organizations such as the Canton Community Theatre, the Canton Farmer’s Market, the Revere Heritage Trust, Canton Choral Society, Friends of the Blue Hills Charitable Trust and individual speakers on topics such as the Holocaust and World War II. Other grantees presented documentaries and education programs at the Canton Public Library.
