Music fans are urged to “come on in (and make yourself at home)” with Theatre of Gadsden’s two-weekend run of “Always ... Patsy Cline” that begins July 21 at the Ritz Theatre in Alabama City.  TOG’s latest show is a musical revue that tells the true story of country music legend Cline’s unlikely friendship with a fan, Louise Seger, over years of writing letters to each other.

Courtney Linam sings a few songs from "Always ... Patsy Cline" as part of a show preview on First Friday hosted by Gadsden Variety. The Theatre of Gadsden production debuts Friday for a two-weekend run at the Ritz Theatre in Alabama City. Greg LaFollette, co-musical director, is on keyboards.

The show’s title was inspired by Cline’s letters to Seger, which were consistently signed “Love ALWAYS … Patsy Cline.”  The production is a two-woman show filled with country humor, heartfelt friendship and plenty of music — with Casey Browning Shehi playing Seger and Courtney Linam playing Patsy Cline.  Dozens of Cline’s songs will be performed from the stage, including classic hits such as “Walkin’ After Midnight,” “I Fall to Pieces,” “Sweet Dreams,” and “Crazy” — all tunes sure to leave audiences humming to themselves for days after the curtains close.  Showtimes are 7 p.m. July 21-22 and July 28-29; and 2 p.m. July 23 and 30. The Ritz is located at 310 Wall St.  For tickets, go to www.theatreofgadsden.org, or directly to TOG’s box office link, www.purplepass.com/togpatsy.  Admission is $20 for adults, $18 for students/seniors/military and $15 each for groups of 10 or more.  Tickets are reserved seating and will be available at the box office beginning 1 hour prior to showtime as seating allows.
