Feb. 25----Theology with a Twist presents "Transition Theology: God Talk During the In Between Times" with the Rev. Dr. Becky Beckwith, Sabbatical Conference Minister of the Pennsylvania Northeast Conference, UCC, Tuesday at 7 p.m. upstairs at the Kutztown Tavern, 272 W. Main St., Kutztown. —St. John's Reformed Church, 4001 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring has named an associate pastor. Sue Weisman, who previously served as the assistant to the pastor, has received her licensure from the Conservative Congregational Christian Conference (4Cs) in order to fulfill the role. She will be commissioned during the church's CommUNITY Communion joint service Sunday at 10:30 a.m. Additionally, St. John's Reformed Church has been approved as a 4Cs conference member. Senior pastor the Rev. Jim Bertoti is also ordained through the 4Cs organization. The Conservative Congregational Christian Conference is a theologically conservative denomination believing strongly in the autonomy of each local church under the headship of Christ.

—Allegheny Lutheran Church, 1327 Alleghenyville Road, Brecknock Township, will be holding a shoe drive-thru collection next Saturday from noon-2 p.m. Put new and gently worn shoes into your trunk and drive up to the church entrance. Donations also will be accepted at the church Monday-Sunday through March. The shoes collected are given to poverty-stricken areas so they can be sold to collect money to buy food and other necessities. Money raised also benefits faith formation classes,

—Christ Lutheran Church, 222 Niantic Road, Washington Township, will worship Sunday at 9 a.m. Coffee & Conversation will be held at 8:30 and 10 in the Welcome Center. The adult Sunday school class will be held at 10 in the parlor. Confirmation class will meet in room I after worship.

—St. John's Lutheran Church, 4125 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring, will hold in-person worship Sunday at 9 a.m., with Holy Communion and special music. The service also will be livestreamed on Facebook.

—Reformation Lutheran Church, 3670 Perkiomen Ave., Exeter Township, will worship Sunday at 8:30 a.m., with Holy Communion, and 10:30 a.m. with Holy Communion and music by the Reformation Choir, under the direction of Dr. Heidi Rochlin. The worship service will be livestreamed on Reformation's Facebook page and may be viewed live or later at www.Reformationlutheran.org under worship videos. Sunday school for all ages begins at 9:30. The 2023 Lenten Devotional, written by members of Reformation, will be available in the narthex. The Ringgold Band, under the direction of Chuck Ebersole and assistant director Mark Brumbach, will present a free concert Sunday at 2 p.m. in the sanctuary in honor of Black History Month, "From Scott Joplin to Stevie Wonder," with music that pays tribute to Black performers, styles and composers.

—St. John's Gernant's Church (A Federated Congregation), 13 Gernant's Church Road, Ontelaunee Township, will worship Sunday at 9:30 a.m. in the Memorial Hall, 12 Gernant's Church Road, which is handicap accessible. Shirley Breininger will be the musician for the service. The Choir will perform an anthem called "It Is Well with My Soul." Bible study will be held on Tuesday 1 p.m. The churches of the Schuylkill Valley Pastor's Association will get together during Lent for soup and sandwich meals. The first worship will be held Wednesday at noon at St. John's Gernant's.

A Meet the Pastors session will be held on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. The Conrad Weiser Lenten Services will begin at noon on Wednesday followed by lunch at 12:30 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 300 W. High St., Womelsdorf, with host pastor the Rev. June Bair and preaching by the Rev. Mary Etta Mest from the UCC of Robesonia. On Wednesdays in Lent, the UCC of Robesonia will offer a 6:30 p.m. half-hour vesper service with a dialogue by two Bible characters acted by Jon and Robin Henning, portraying Samson and Delilah.
