Theology with a Twist season kicks off on Tuesday in Kutztown [Religion Digest]

Sep. 30----The 2023-24 Theology with a Twist season will begin on Tuesday with the Rev. Rebecca Hoover presenting "Be You Be Barbie: Towards a Transformational Theology of Personhood." Join us as we discuss our identities, God and Barbie. Hoover is pastor of One United Church of Christ in Kenhorst and a full-time elementary school teacher. Theology with a Twist is held from 7-8:30 p.m.at the Kutztown Tavern, 272 W. Main St Kutztown. Food and veverages are available for purchase.

—There will be a buckwheat pancake and sausage supper next Saturday from 3-6 p.m. at the Hill Church Picnic Grove dining hall, 620 Hill Church Road, Pike Township. Cost is $11 for adults and $6 for children 3-10. Dine in or take out; take out is $1 more. Dinner includes sausage, buckwheat pancakes, home fries, dessert and a beverage.

—Epler's Church United Church of Christ, 1151 W. Leesport Road, Bern Township, will have a food and faith night on Friday with food at 6 p.m. and an informal worship with the Rev. Zack Jackson at 7 p.m. dealing with Halloween and Christianity at 7. There also will be special music.

—Huff's Union Church, 540 Conrad Road, Hereford Township, is holding an oyster pie sale. Orders are due by Oct. 8. Cost is $8.50 per pie. Call the church office at 610-845-2626 to order. Pick up on Oct. 21 between 9 a.m. and noon in the chapel.

—St. John's Lutheran Church, 4125 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring, will be hosting a trunk-or-treat on Oct. 29 from 4:30-6 p.m. There are spots available for businesses and individuals to decorate a trunk and hand out treats. —The Links of Love quilting ministry, which was recently named in memory of church member and founder Blanche Link, will celebrate its 20th year of crafting quilts for Lutheran World Relief on Sunday at Reformation Lutheran Church, 3670 Perkiomen Ave., Exeter Township. More than 50 quilts will be blessed during the 8:30 and 10 a.m. worship services before being boxed and sent around the world.

—United Church of Christ of Robesonia, 301 W. Penn Ave., will offer movie night tonight at 4 p.m. featuring the animated Disney family film "Lilo & Stitch."
