Things are getting pretty colorful across Ohio.

All of the state is either changing or at near peak for fall colors.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources tracks the progression of fall colors at state parks and forests and says there's a "fireworks" of color across the state.

“The wide-ranging fall color reports statewide are due to the weather patterns throughout the year with some areas of the state seeing more rain than others,” said ODNR Fall Color Forester David Parrott in a statement. “Current changes include black walnut showing brilliant yellows and sycamores ablaze in oranges and yellows. Even our state native fruit bearing tree, the pawpaw, is showing its yellows.”

Where are the best fall colors in Ohio?

There's no magic switch when it comes to fall colors. Some areas begin to show color quicker than others.

Factors from types of trees to weather to topography all play factors in just when the leaves change and just how vibrant the colors are.

The state says leaves at 14 of its state parks and forests are changing.

Another 17 are considered near peak with significant color showing with 30 to 60 percent.

And two state parks are considered to be at peak for fall color.

Dillion State Park and Grand Lake St Marys State Park are at peak with as much as 85 percent color showing.

What's the weather forecast this weekend in Ohio?

Mother Nature is not a fan of fall peeper loves this weekend.

The National Weather Service says rain is possible all across Ohio starting Friday through Saturday.

It is possible as much as 2 inches of rain could fall in some spots in the state.

The chance of rain across the state continues on Sunday.
