There's got to be a better option for voters in 2024 than Trump and Biden, right?

Dear Democratic National Committee and Republican National Committee,

We need to talk.

Campaign 2020 wasn’t that long ago. You both remember how awful it was. I mean, you have to, right?

Donald Trump freaked out on Twitter 10 times a day, while Joe Biden hid in his basement and called “lids” at 10:30 a.m.

In the debates, Trump acted like an overcaffeinated toddler as Biden glanced his glassy eyes at the moderator.

Commentators couldn’t say anything positive about their guy, so they just blasted the other nominee as either a fascist or a communist.

Pundits screamed at each other on TV, voters screamed at each other online, and the vast majority of Americans didn’t like either candidate.

Why relive another Trump-Biden matchup?

We just lived through a year-plus of that nonsense.

So, why on Earth are you forcing a repeat on us in 2024?

Trump threw his hat into the ring back in November, a week after destroying Republican midterm hopes. Biden announced this week, despite his base’s worries about his advanced age and lackluster performance.

Few but the most strident partisans are happy with this all-too-likely matchup. Just look at the numbers.

According to a recent NBC News poll, 60% of American adults want Trump to drop out of the race, compared to 35% who want him to stay. The opposition’s even stronger for Biden, who they want out by a 70% to 26% margin.

Yet, here we are. Two annoying parties planning a replay of the worst election in our lifetimes.

This is like Hollywood green-lighting a sequel to that terrible “Cats” movie.

They're both old, and Trump is facing charges

The age problem is real, and all too apparent every time Biden appears on screen. He stayed off-camera for most of his campaign announcement video, except when he mumbled his way through the intro.

If reelected, President Biden will be 82 years old; 86 if he makes it through a second term.

Compared to him, Trump is a spring chicken, clocking in at a spry 78 for swearing-in time. People are saying it’ll be the biggest, best-attended inauguration in history, believe me.

This time around, Trump is saddled with criminal charges, which can’t help his numbers. According to a recent poll, 57% of Americans think they disqualify him from another run.

At yet, he runs on, spending most of his time yelling about Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and trashing the state he fled to from New York.

Please, party leaders, don’t do this to us again.

Ironically, Trump and Biden are in the lead

Party members aren’t off the hook either.

Despite the majority of voters wanting another choice, Trump leads the GOP field by 28 percentage points, while Biden dominates the Dems by 43.

It can’t reassure the White House that cranks like Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Marianne Williamson are pulling 28% of Democratic voters.

Arizona or Florida? GOP's future is a stark choice

The GOP hopefuls are much more interesting, rendering the non-Trump vote to be about 38%. But, put them all together and they still trail His Orangeness.

But even Biden and Trump know they’re living on borrowed time.

We don't want what you're selling. Do better

This week, both candidates appear unwilling to even show up to any primary debates. This is hardly a sign of confidence.

Considering their track records, they’ll likely just spill a stream of gaffes over the lecterns that their staff would have to waste weeks cleaning up.

Is anyone working the phones at the DNC? Anyone checking the emails at the RNC?

Nobody wants what you’re selling. It was bad the first time around and will be even worse in 2024.

About two-thirds of Americans want nothing to do with either of these fossils, so head back to your drawing boards.

Sincerely,

The Voters
