Had a bout of bad dates of late? Then this blind date news should restore your faith.

Two senior citizens in their 90s are going viral after a photo of their blind date was posted to Facebook.

93-year-old Miriam Steiner and 90-year-old Harold Sharlin were set upat the Politics & Prose bookshop and cafe in Washington, D.C, by Sharlin’s granddaughter, Jenny.

After meeting Steiner on a shift at her restaurant job she knew they were a great match and decided to plan for them to meet. The pair agreed to the lunch date and left the staff at the bookshop so smitten that they asked to take the photo which was posted to their Facebook page.

“We’re not crying. We just have something in our eye. :’) Harold and Miriam, both in their nineties, met for a blind first date at the bookstore on Sunday,” the store wrote on the post which has now had over two thousand likes.

TODAY reports that the pair, who are both widowers, “spent the whole afternoon together” and had a “very pleasant” time.

“It’s very unusual,” Steiner told TODAY. “We’re both in our 90s. We’re both handicapped. Neither of us drive … It’s not easy, making connections as a senior, but we need it. It’s up there with Medicare and Social Security. I hope people remember that.”

No word yet as to whether there’s a date number two, but we for one are confident. This is solid proof you should never say ‘No’ to a blind date.
