STORY: Liverpool assistant manager Pepijn Linders says the rest of the squad are not worried by Thiago Alcantara's positive Covid-19 test, with the club having lots of measures in place to pick up signs of the disease.

The Premier League champions' new signing will not be available for a number of matches - including Thursday's Carabao Cup clash with Arsenal - after it was confirmed on Tuesday (September 29) he has the illness.

Speaking at a news conference on Wednesday, Linders said it was club policy not to give details about individual players, but the fact Alcantara was identified so quickly as suffering from Covid was a "big compliment" to Liverpool and its testing structure.
