Thieves make off with 23K in jewelry in armed robberies in the Bronx, Manhattan

A thieving duo is stealing jewelry right off of their victims in armed robberies in the Bronx and Manhattan, police said Tuesday.

The men struck three separate times earlier this month, making off with more than $23,000 in jewelry and cash.

In the first incident, a man approached two women, ages 27 and 32, outside a nail salon on Grand Concourse near E. 183rd St. in Fordham Heights around 5:20 a.m. March 3, cops said.

The robber pulled out a gun and took $8,000 worth of necklaces right of their necks, scratching and bruising the older woman.

He took off in a dark gray BMW X5, police said.

The next morning, a man pulled up to the Dyckman St. station in Inwood in the same BMW and went into the station around 7:25 a.m., police said.

Inside the No. 1 train station, he targeted a 40-year-old man and pulled out a gun before hitting the victim in the head with it.

Again, the thief took jewelry off the man as well as his wallet containing credit cards and $1,200 in cash.

He ran off, hopped back in his car and zoomed off, cops said.

The victim suffered minor bruises and scratches in the robbery.

About three hours later and back in the Bronx, two men walked into a barbershop near the corner of E. 169th St. and Morris Ave. in Claremont, police said.

At least one of the men flashed a gun and forcibly removed $14,000 worth of jewelry off a 50-year-old man’s neck and wrist.

They both took off in the same BMW used in the other robberies.

The victim’s forehead was cut in the attack.

Police are still looking for the men, who they believe are both in their early to mid twenties.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS.
