Irishfest
Mashpee residents will host the 4th Annual Irishfest event from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 11, at New Seabury Country Club, 95 Shore Drive West. The event is open to the public and all proceeds raised will benefit the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s running program to conquer cancer. Light bites will be served, with a cash bar. Entertainment will be by Ireland – The Band, traditional bagpipers and Irish step dancers, with Cape Cod radio personality, Stephanie Viva! emceeing the afternoon.

Bruce Marshall at Cotuit
New England blues legend Bruce Marshall returns to Cotuit Center for the Arts with the Bruce Marshall Group at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 11. Formed in 1991, The Bruce Marshall Group has a reputation for high-energy live shows that slip between genres, offering Southern rock, country, rhythm and blues and a bit of soul.
The group has released seven CDs, the most recent of which is 2018’s “Borrowed Time.” Tickets are $35, with a $5 discount for Cotuit Center members and a $2 discount for seniors/veterans. Go Bold
Cape Rep Theatre presents the return of its Bold Company (BoldCo) program with “Everybody,” by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, directed by Julie Allen Hamilton. Performances will be in Cape Rep’s Indoor Theater, 3299 Main St., Brewster, at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, March 10 and 11, at 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $10, $5 for students under 18. “Everybody” is described as a “modern riff on the 15th century morality play. 'Everybody' offers a playful and colloquial examination of the human condition in the face of mortality as we follow Everybody’s journey down a road toward life’s greatest mystery,” according to a written statement announcing the performance.
Cape Rep’s The Bold Company (BoldCo) is a free educational program for 55 and older Cape Cod residents who want to learn to act in a friendly setting. There are 18 members from across the Cape participating in the company’s second season.
Guest chefs
This weekend and later in the month, Wequassett Resort and Golf Club in Harwich is hosting guest chefs at its Twenty-Eight Atlantic Restaurant. On Friday, March 10, and Saturday, March 11, cooking at Wequassett will be chef Michael Lombardi, co-executive chef and partner at SRV in Boston’s South End and owner of Si Cara, in Cambridge's Central Square. His Venetian heritage and love of pasta is part of his approach. Si Cara pays homage to his Nonna and her Italian roots with delicious pizza and other flavorful treats.
On March 24 and 25, chef Jiho Kim brings a wealth of experience in the pastry arts, having worked at some of the finest restaurants in the world, including The Modern and Le Bernardin.
“He has been praised for his creativity and his ability to blend flavors and ingredients. Kim is passionate about creating unique dining experiences, and his new venture, Joomak Banjum, is a testament to that – exuding Korean-Chinese cuisine, executed with French technique and expressed through New York culture,” according to a written announcement.

ABCs at Osterville Library
There is a chock-full weekend planned for Osterville Village Library, 43 Wianno Ave., that includes astronomy, biking and the colors of painted flowers.
At 1 p.m. Saturday, March 11, local astronomer and mathematician Art Cornell will host an afternoon all about astronomy. At 94 years of age, Korean War veteran Cornell has accumulated a vast knowledge concerning science and space. Cupcakes will be offered following the talk. Also on Saturday, at 10 a.m., Stephanie Soares of Cape Cod Bike Fit reviews safety considerations, rules of the road and group ride etiquette. In addition – and especially for younger riders in your family – Soares, a physical therapist, will touch on basic bike handling skills including braking, shifting, turning, cornering and more. A month of bird walks
The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History in Brewster presents “Bird Walk & Talk” hosted by museum field guide Karl Fryzel. The group will meet from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesdays, March 15, March 29, and April 26.
The class explores birds of the season in four habitats: marsh, meadow, woodland and beach/shore. The walk will spend time looking for and listening to birds in each of these habitats after a brief introduction to the museum. The guide will also explain and use some of the latest bird-watching technology tools. It is suggested that participants bring binoculars and a smartphone.
Fryzel is an amateur birder, self-educated in ornithology and receiving numerous certificates of completion in birding, including The Comprehensive Bird Biology Certificate, through the Cornell Lab of Ornithology.

Roomful of Blues
Tickets, from $45 to $85, are on sale now for the March 25 show of Roomful of Blues playing at 8 p.m. at The Music Room, 541 Main St., West Yarmouth.
Having played for 50 years, the group has gone through changes but maintains a reputation for a vibrant, joyful blues sound flavored with soul and rock. Currently an eight-piece unit led by guitarist Chris Vachon, the band features singer Phil Pemberton, bassist John Turner, trumpeter Carl Gerhard, drummer Mike Coffey, keyboardist Rusty Scott, baritone and tenor saxophonist Alek Razdan, and tenor and alto saxophonist Rich Lataille.
