The Balloon Classic Presented by Aultman will be 4 to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the campuses of Kent State University at Stark and Stark State College at 6000 Frank Ave. NW in Jackson Township.

The event attracts balloonists from across the country. Balloon launches are 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, weather permitting.

Activities between 4 and 10 p.m. include a target drop, inflatables for children and skydivers. Food vendors also will be available.

Friday night features the Night Glow event. Admission is free and parking costs $5.

Shakespeare presented outdoors in Massillon

"A Midsummer Night's Dream" will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Friday and 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Duncan Plaza in downtown Massillon.

The Shakespeare play tells the story of Oberon King of the Fairies and the mischievous imp Puck as they traverse the woods outside Athens.

Roving Rogue Productions is presenting the play, which is directed by Cait McNeil while featuring Northeast Ohio actors.

Admission is free with donations accepted.

Snacks and refreshments will be available for purchase. Attendees are asked to arrive 30 minutes prior to showtime. Guests also can bring portable chairs and blankets for seating.

Geneva College's New Song Music Ministry will perform at 6 p.m. Friday at Minerva Municipal Park on Brock Avenue.

The park is about a block from U.S. 30. Minerva Community Church, 22763 E. Lincoln Way, will serve as a backup location if it rains.

New Song is a music and drama ministry of Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania.

The free Minerva show is part of a summer tour and features a nine-member group. New Song sings hymns and spiritual music while sharing the gospel in short dramatic performances.

A Canton Symphony Orchestra brass quintet will perform at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Cook's Lagoon in Canton.

The Summer Serenades in the Park show is a collaboration between Stark Parks and the Canton Symphony Orchestra.

Cook's Lagoon is at 1819 Mahoning Road NE.

Canton Farmers Market on Saturday

The Canton Farmers Market is 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Centennial Plaza in downtown Canton.

Vendors will sell fruit, vegetables, pastured meats, eggs, baked goods, honey, maple syrup, preserved goods, tea, coffee, plants, fresh herbs, pet treats, custom face coverings, snacks and other items.

Ohio-grown produce includes tomatoes, peppers, peaches, melons and cucumbers.

Centennial Plaza is on Market Avenue North between Third and Fourth streets NW and near Court Avenue NW.
