Support the Boys & Girls Club this weekend, or don your best superhero gear for comics and toys, classic car shows and a BBQ hoedown to fill your gut.

1. Boys & Girls Growing Bright Futures Gala

The Boys & Girls Clubs of South Central Tennessee's most-celebrated annual fundraiser returns this weekend for a night of music, good food and helping local youth.

The Boys & Girls Growing Bright Futures Gala will once again take place at Puckett's on the downtown Columbia square starting at 5 p.m. Friday. The event will feature live and silent auctions, as well as live music, dinner and a cocktail bar.

Some of the Club kids will also take the stage for a few performances during the event.

Tickets are $260 per person or $2,500 for a table of 10 and can be purchased at e.GiveSmart.com. Additional donations may also be made at the purchasing website.

2. Columbia Comic Book & Toy Expo

The annual Columbia Comic Book and Toy Expo returns to the Columbia National Guard Armory from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

Columbia's annual Comic Book & Toy Expo returns this weekend to The National Guard Armory at 844 N. James M. Campbell Blvd., featuring multiple vendors, cosplayers and artists.

If you've got a love for comic books, horror movies, video games, anime and toy collecting, you'll find it at the Comic Book & Toy Expo.

The expo will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and admission is $5 at the door.

Jerzee Dogs will also be set up to serve food starting at 11 a.m., including 100% all-beef Sabrett hot dogs, cold drinks and Dorito bowls.

3. Muletown Motorfest at Parks Motorsales

The third annual Muletown Motorfest will take place Saturday at Parks Motor Sales Buick GMC, featuring classic cars, trucks and motorcycles, food trucks, live music and more.

It's another great weekend for classic car enthusiasts, this time at Parks Motor Sales Buick GMC, 919 Nashville Highway.

The facility will host its third annual Muletown Motorfest, which will also serve as a benefit for Columbia CARES nonprofit.

The Motorfest car show will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, featuring classic cars, trucks and motorcycles. There will also be door prizes, food trucks and live music to enjoy.

Registration is $20 per vehicle and will take place from 8 a.m. to noon. Dash plaques will be given to the first 150 vehicles registered.

4. BBQ Hoedown at The Rebel

Stop by The Rebel Bar and Grill for a BBQ Hoedown this Saturday, with live music, prizes and a BBQ buffet.

Come hungry and ready for a good time at The Rebel Bar and Grill, 307 Riverside Drive.

The Rebel plans to throw an all-day BBQ Hoedown celebrating owner Patti Gillin's birthday. The fun begins at 1 p.m. Saturday and will include a mixture of kids crafts, live music, karaoke and lots of slow-smoked goodness.

The day's schedule will start with free kids crafts, karaoke and face painting starting at 1 p.m.

Live music will start on the outdoor Tiki Stage starting at 4 p.m., and the BBQ buffet dinner will be served at 5 p.m.

The Rebel's BBQ Hoedown will remain an all-ages event until 8 p.m., with music ending at 10 p.m.

5. Live entertainment

Ella & Blaine will perform at Grinder's Switch Winery, 510 N. Garden St., starting at 6 p.m. Friday.

Raviner and Damien Boggs will perform at The Tilted Mule, 102 Depot St., starting at 7 p.m. Saturday.

The Bottom Dollar Band will perform at The Boondox, 3543 Highway 431, starting at 8 p.m. Saturday.

Polly's Pocket will perform at Fozzy's Bar & Grill, 150 Stephen P. Yokich Parkway in Spring Hill, starting at noon Saturday.

Grayson will perform at The Rebel Bar and Grill, 307 Riverside Drive, starting at 4 p.m. Sunday.
