First Friday fashion show at The Hub Art Factory in downtown Canton

November's First Friday activities from 5 to 9 p.m. include art shows, boutiques, pop-up shops and family-friendly activities in downtown Canton's Arts District.

Highlights also include "All Stitched Up Fashion Show" at The Hub Art Factory, 336 Sixth St. NW.

The collaborative show features upcycled and thrift flipped works of art from local artists Erika Katherine, Heidi Fawver and Hannah Eftimiades.

Racks of custom pieces also will be for sale from local makers. Happy hour is 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. with music and drinks. Models will walk at 7 p.m. Handmade pieces worn in the fashion show will be available for purchase at 8 p.m.

Katherine and Fawver are both artists based at The Hub.

Katherine specializes in fantastical and whimsical caricature sculptures. Past pieces include David Bowie and a character from the "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" movie, as well as a gift commissioned for celebrities Kourtney Kardashian and her husband, Travis Barker.

The Fairless High School graduate also formerly owned an art studio and boutique, where she specialized in upcycling thrift and vintage furniture with artsy stylings.

Fawver, a 2018 GlenOak High School graduate, excels at pyrography, a wood-burning technique used to create art with a heated metal pen or tool. She also crafts wood-burned jewelry and paints.

Eagles tribute band at the Canton Palace Theatre

Eagles tribute band Hotel California will perform Thursday at the Canton Palace Theatre.

Showtime is 7:30 p.m. Tickets, $28, $38 and $68 plus fees, can be purchased online at https://cantonpalacetheatre.org/ or by calling the box office at 330-454-8172. All seats are reserved.

Hotel California has toured since the '80s, including internationally. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The Palace Theatre is at 605 Market Ave. N.

Comedy Pet Theater in Massillon

The Popovich Comedy Pet Theater will perform at 7 p.m. Friday at Lions Lincoln Theatre in downtown Massillon.

Tickets, $25 general admission and $30 VIP, can be purchased at https://www.lionslincolntheatre.org/#eventlistings.

Featured in Las Vegas, the Comedy Pet Theater blends humor and award-winning juggling skills by former circus veteran and "America's Got Talent" finalist Gregory Popovich. Pets perform with the use of reinforcement techniques.

More than 30 rescue animals perform, including cats, dogs, geese, ponies, goats and parrots.

'Once Upon a Mattress' at Canton South High School

"Once Upon a Mattress," a musical and comedic retelling of the classic fairytale "The Princess and the Pea," will be presented at Canton South High School this weekend.

Shows are 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.

"Once Upon a Mattress" is the story of what happens when a stubborn queen, played by junior Polly Murphy, creates difficult tasks for any princess looking to wed her son Prince Dauntless, played by sophomore Donnie Boswell.

Knight Sir Harry, played by senior Collin Myers, at the request of his beloved Lady Larken, played by sophomore Abigail Bryan, sets off on a quest to find a princess who can pass the queen’s difficult tests.

The performance will be in the Performing Arts Center at Canton South High School is at 600 Faircrest St. SE in Canton Township.

ELO tribute 'Into the Blue' in Massillon

Electric Light Orchestra tribute band "Into the Blue" will perform at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Lions Lincoln Theatre in downtown Massillon.

The area band features 11 musicians and a string section. ELO's popular songs include "Don't Bring Me Down," "Livin' Thing," "Do Ya," "Sweet Talkin' Woman" and "Mr. Blue Sky."

'Three Stooges' Fest at Canton Palace

Four 'Three Stooges' shorts will be shown Saturday night at the Canton Palace Theatre.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and short films start at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased online at https://cantonpalacetheatre.org/ and by calling the box office at 330-454-8172. Box office hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays at the Palace Theatre, 605 Market Ave. N.

Tickets also will be sold at the door starting one hour before showtime.

'One Night in Memphis' at KSU Tusc Performing Arts Center

“One Night in Memphis" will perform Tuesday at the Performing Arts Center at Kent State University at Tuscarawas in New Philadelphia.

The show is 7:30 p.m. and features the music of Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash.

“One Night in Memphis” features more than 90 minutes of rockabilly, country, gospel and 1950’s rock and roll music with authentic and energetic presentation, said a news release from the Performing Arts Center. Songs include "Blue Suede Shoes," "Great Balls of Fire," "Folsom Prison Blue" and "Don't Be Cruel."

The show recreates the night of Dec. 4, 1956 when Presley, Perkins, Lewis and Cash found themselves jamming at Sam Phillip’s Sun Studio in Memphis.
