Editor's note: Organizers have cancelled a night of comedy scheduled at 7 p.m. Sunday at Falmouth Jewish Congregation.

"It was determined by us and by all the New England consortium bringing the two (comedians) that this is not an appropriate program at this time ― comedy and Israel just don’t mix this week. We hope to reschedule for a future date," emailed Pamela Rothstein, director of lifelong learning at Falmouth Jewish Congregation.

While the off-season is surely kicking in, there are no signs of slowing down here on the Cape as the events keep rolling.

In Falmouth, prepare for a jazzy weekend ahead as the Arts Falmouth Jazz Stroll takes place on Oct. 14 and Grammy-award-winning jazz pianist Sullivan Foster takes the stage at Highfield Hall & Gardens on Sunday — which we hope you caught in last week’s best bets.

Food and drinks events are still in full swing as Barks and Brews takes over Cape Cod Beer and the Wequassett Resort and Golf Club hosts its Truffle Takeover from Oct. 13 to 15. Support local art and see any of three exhibitions across the Cape featuring local artists this weekend.

Let's start this week at Wequassett Resort and Golf Club where executive chef James Hackney is taking fall foragers and food enthusiasts on a "gastronomic adventure" during a three-course prix fixe menu made using truffles and accompanied by wine from the Beni Di Batasiolo Vineyards in Italy on Friday, Oct. 13 and Saturday, Oct. 14, followed by a private tasting dinner on Saturday evening.

During Saturday's private dinner, Ricardo March, Beni Di Batasiolo's U.S. and Canadian director, will show off his expertise as a sommelier, guiding guests through each of the menu's wine pairings and how to properly enjoy the decadent flavors.

Prior to the dinner, March will be hosting a wine tasting on the Pleasant Bay Terrace in the afternoon.

To round out the fungi-filled weekend, a truffle-inspired breakfast will be served at Twenty-Eight Atlantic on Sunday.

The Truffle Takeover weekend events can be booked online at https://wequassett.com/experience/truffle-takeover/ starting at $155 per person.

'Postcards From A Pandemic' in Osterville

While living in lockdown and suiting up in gloves and masks to go to the grocery store may seem like a nightmare from the far past now, "Postcards From A Pandemic" is bringing to light the lives of more than 85 artists and authors on the Cape during the pandemic.

Edited by Dorothy Skelley, the book consists of stories from a multitude of sources working to share their experiences during the grueling times of peak COVID-19 against the backdrop of a beautiful, yet desolate Cape Cod. Submissions — over 300 of them — came from across the Cape, with over a third of the book's essays penned by Cape Cod students under the age of 18.

Berta Walker Gallery's multimedia and costumes group exhibition in Provincetown

“She is always watching, always receiving, and is often surrounded by the continuing movement and sound of birds visiting her studio window, allowing their flight of energy to inhabit her art," wrote guest curator David Perry in a press release for the exhibition. "And, the artist encourages the viewer to ‘add to the story’ as an audience in the theater might.”

Along with "Watching" the gallery will be exhibiting several works in their costumes and patterns group exhibition featuring the skirt Walker made for the opening of Andy Warhol's retrospective at the Whitney Museum in 1971 and other works by gallery artists like Paul Bowen and Laura Shabbott.
