Things to do: Fundraising for vets, Mulehouse prom, classic cars and vintage baseball

Score a big prize while honoring veterans this weekend, or perhaps you'd like to relive your former high school days at The Mulehouse, browse classic cars or catch an old-school ballgame.

1. Muletown Mission Possible for On Mission Motorsports

Support local veterans, while also having a ton of all-day fun at The Memorial Building this weekend.

On Mission Motorsports, which works with local vets using off-road vehicles to treat things like PTSD, will host "Mission Possible," which kicks off at 1 p.m. at The Memorial Building, 308 W. 7th St.

The 21-and-up event will include a poker run from 1-5 p.m., with the opportunity for a $1,000 grand prize for the top hands.

On Mission Motorsports will host Muletown Mission Possible at The Memorial Building this Saturday. The all-day event will include a poker run, scavenger hunt, lip sync battle and dance party.

A scavenger hunt will follow from 4:30-6:30 p.m., which also includes a $1,000 prize for the top teams.

A lip sync battle will also take place starting at 8 p.m., with a $500 prize for best performance.

The night will conclude with a dance party hosted by DJ Keith Throneberry, which will run until about 11 p.m.

2. Second Chance Prom at The Mulehouse

The Mulehouse will step back into the 90s by hosting a Second Chance Prom on Friday, Aug. 26.

Were you one of those people who missed prom, or maybe wish you could go back in time for a re-do?

Or maybe you loved it so much you wish you could do it all over again.

The Mulehouse, 812 S. High St., will host a special Second Chance Prom this Saturday, which will bring patrons back to the 1990s and early-2000s.

The event is set to start at 8 p.m. Friday and will feature live music from That 90's Show, who will bring all the great hits from back in the day.

Tickets are $18 in advance and $25 day of the show, and may be purchased at www.TheMulehouse.com.

3. Cars and Coffee in Spring Hill

Spring Hill invites auto and classic car enthusiasts to come out this weekend as the city hosts its official Cars and Coffee.

The event is free to attend and will take place at The Goldton at Spring Hill, 3056 Miles Johnson Parkway, starting at 8 a.m. Saturday and running until 11 a.m.

Visitors can also enjoy free coffee and treats from Patty's Pastries.

Cars and Coffee will feature a fleet of exotic vehicles, classics and even Lightning McQueen from the Pixar film "Cars."

4. Vintage Baseball at Rippavilla

The Spring Hill Quicksteps will square off against the Farriers of Franklin in their final regular season game of vintage baseball at Rippavilla, which kicks off at 1 p.m. Sunday.

Experience America's favorite pastime at historic Rippavilla this weekend as the Spring Hill Quicksteps face off against the Farriers of Franklin.

The Tennessee Association of Vintage Baseball will host this final regular season match, which features baseball played in the 1800s style, which means no helmets or gloves.

The game will kick off at 1 p.m. Sunday at Rippavilla, 5700 Main Street in Spring Hill, and is free to attend.

Guests are asked to bring chairs, coolers and canopies, but mostly to sit back and enjoy an afternoon of vintage baseball played the old-school way.

5. Live entertainment

CJ Hughes & 50 Beautiful Units will perform at Bad Idea Brewing, 307 W. 11th St. in the Columbia Arts Building, starting at 7 p.m. Friday.

Herrick Band will perform at Vanh Dy's Upstairs Speakeasy Lounge, 814 S. Main St., starting at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

Anna Lynn Ferris will perform at The Boondox, 3543 Highway 431, starting at 8 p.m. Friday.

The Petty Junkies will perform at The Mulehouse, 812 S. High St., starting at 7 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $20 and are available at www.TheMulehouse.com.

Loosewheels' own Marcus Malone & The Velvet Troubadours will perform at Bad Idea Brewing starting at 6 p.m. Saturday.

Pickin' in The Park returns to Harvey Park, located off Miles Johnson Parkway in Spring Hill, starting at 5:30 p.m. Saturday. This month's lineup will feature Marta Albaracin, Jamie Chura, Mercury Red, Pontiac Alley and Border Town. CD's BBQ will also be onsite to serve food.

Brother Theresa will perform at The Rebel Bar and Grill, 307 Riverside Drive, starting at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

The Escape Band will perform at The Boondox, 3543 Highway 431, starting at 8 p.m. Saturday.
