GREEN BAY - Musicals and festivals are kicking off for 2024 in Green Bay this weekend. A museum is holding its most popular festival this weekend and beloved Disney characters are coming back to the city.

There's plenty to do before heading to the couch for Super Bowl 58. Here are some things happening around Green Bay Friday through Sunday.

Disney on Ice presents 'Mickey's Search Party'

Disney on Ice is back this weekend with all of Mickey's friends at the Resch Center. The show will included iconic characters from "Frozen," "Peter Pan," "Coco," "Toy Story," "Aladdin," "Beauty and the Beast" and other tales.

The shows continue Thursday through Sunday with multiple shows Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are available starting at $28 to $113. Buy tickets on Ticket Star.

Urban Cultural Arts presents 'A Tale of 3 Cities' Art Reception

Explore one-of-a-kind art at Urban Cultural Arts on Friday night. Featured artists are coming from Chicago, Oakland, California, and Minneapolis, Minnesota, in the "A Tale of 3 Cities" exhibit. Talk to them about their artwork, eat, and collect some art in the auction at the art reception this weekend.

The reception is 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Urban Cultural Arts and Events Center, 906 E Walnut St. The exhibit is open until Feb. 29.

'Jesus Christ Superstar' stops at The Weidner for one night

Andrew Lloyd Wright and Tim Rice's rock opera is stopping at The Weidner for one night on its 50th anniversary tour of "Jesus Christ Superstar." The musical is based on the final days of Jesus Christ through the eyes of Judas and opened on Broadway in 1971.

The show starts at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Tickets are still available on Ticket Star or by calling 800-395-0071. The cost between $68 and $128 for adults and $48 and $78 for kids.

Last candlelit hikes for the winter at Barkhausen Waterfowl Preserve

The last candlelit hikes of the season at the Barkhausen Waterfowl Preserve are Friday and Saturday. Take a 1.25-mile stroll through the illuminated trail anytime between 5 and 8 p.m.

The preserve is located at 2024 Lakeview Drive in Suamico. Registration is required online before the hike. Tickets cost $5 per person and can be found on the Brown County parks website.

Green Bay Home and Lifestyles Experience

The Brown County Home Builders Association is bringing the annual Home and Lifestyles Experience back to the Resch Expo. Get inspiration for your home decor by talking to professionals in home building, remodeling, landscaping, bedding, bath and other areas.

The event is 2-8 p.m. Friday, 10-7 p.m. Saturday and 10-4 p.m. Sunday. General admission for adults is $11 and a weekend pass costs $16. Buy tickets and find a list of exhibitors on Ticket Star.

Get a tasting at the annual Rails and Ales Brewfest at the National Railroad Museum

One of the National Railroad Museum's most popular fundraisers — Rails & Ales Brewfest — is coming back Saturday for anyone 21 and older. Samples of craft beers, wines, and spirits will be available. Each ticket includes a tasting glass.

Food will be available for purchase and a silent auction will be held. A standard ticket costs $50 per person. More information and tickets can be found on the museum's website. The event starts at 6 p.m. Saturday at the museum, 2285 S. Broadway, Ashwaubenon.

Watch two concerts at St. Norbert College

The annual Winter Bandfest Concert with high school students from around the state will perform with St. Norbert College faculty and guest artists. The concert starts at 5 p.m. Saturday in the Walter Theatre of the Abbot Pennings Hall of Fine Arts, 315 Third St., in De Pere. Tickets cost $10 and are available at www.snc.edu/tickets.

St. Norbert is holding a faculty recital featuring João Paulo Casarotti, a Brazilian pianist and SNC assistant professor of piano. The recital starts at 7 p.m. Sunday in Dudley Birder Hall, 400 Grant St. The recital is free.

Green Bay Film Festival kicks off this year's festival season with Wisconsin's own

The Green Bay Film Festival is starting the 2024 festival season this weekend. First up is the Wisconsin's Own session, showcasing art from Wisconsinites. The films start 4 p.m. Saturday at the Tarlton Theatre, 405-409 W. Walnut St.

Tickets cost $20 at www.gbfilmfestival.org.

Pink Out Day for UWGB vs. IUPUI

The UW-Green Bay women are playing Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis Saturday afternoon at the Kress Events Center. It's Pink Out Day for breast cancer awareness at the game.

Tickets for the game are on Ticket Star. The game starts at 1 p.m. Saturday.
