Things to do in Green Bay this weekend: Luminary walk, Frenzy on the Fox, Gamblers game family night

GREEN BAY - If you're looking for something to do this weekend, we have you covered.

Here's a list of some events going on in downtown Green Bay and around the city.

There's a new art exhibit, nighttime hike, and some concerts and shows to keep you busy.

Baird Creek Luminary Walk comes back

The luminary walk at Baird Creek is coming back Friday for another year after the first walk was so popular. Walk the 1.2-mile paved trail from 5-7 p.m. Friday while it glows with over 1,000 luminaries. Walk-ins are welcome, but tickets bought ahead of time are recommended to guarantee parking.

Tickets are still available at $5 per person or $15 per family. Sign up for a spot or to volunteer for the event through the foundation's website.

Frenzy on the Fox is back downtown

The annual Frenzy on the Fox that celebrates plowing of the Fox River Trail for winter recreation is back on Friday. Walk, run or bike for however long you want on the trail. Music and refreshments will be available halfway on the trail — which is at the 2.5-kilometer mark.

The event starts and ends at Hagemeister Park on the CityDeck. Check-in starts at 5:30 p.m. and the event starts at 6:30 p.m. inside Hagemeister Park restaurant, 325 N. Washington St.

Green Bay Art Colony exhibition opens

The Green Bay Art Club held its first public art exhibit at the Kellogg Public Library in 1915, which laid the foundation for a permanent museum that eventually became the Neville Public Museum.

To honor that history of the museum, the Art Club hosts an annual exhibition at the Neville featuring artwork created by current members of the club, which is now known as the Green Bay Art Colony.

The exhibit opens Saturday. The public is also welcome to join an artist reception from 2-5 p.m. Saturday. The exhibit is on display until March 3. More information can be found on the Neville Public Museum's website.

Local physicians put on Doctors in Recital at the Weidner

Area physicians with a passion for music are coming together to perform in the city's annual Doctors in Recital concert and raise money for Exceptional Equestrians this year. Each act is headlined by a different physician and performances include classical, pop and jazz.

The show is at 7 p.m. Saturday in Cofrin Family Hall at The Weidner on the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay campus. Tickets are still available for $28.50 through Ticket Star.

Catch a feature music show at the Meyer Theatre

Aaron Tippin is performing Friday night at the Meyer Theatre in downtown Green Bay. His music includes the hits “You’ve Got to Stand for Something,” “Kiss This,” and “There Ain’t Nothing Wrong with the Radio.”

Tickets for the show cost $35 to $40 through Ticket Star. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

The theatre is also putting on Steely Dane, a tribute to Steely Dan and Donald Fagen.

Tickets cost $30 to $35 through Ticket Star. The tribute show starts at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

RV and Camping Expo at the Resch Expo

Green Bay's RV and Camping Expo that has run for 60 years will be at the Resch Expo Friday through Sunday. Prepare for the camping season with exclusive deals on campers and RVs and exhibitors from campgrounds, resorts, and tourism groups around the state.

All military get in for free with a valid military ID on Friday. There will be trail mix and s'mores bars Saturday and Sunday. Tickets can be bought on Ticket Star. The expo goes from noon to 8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Phoenix men, women play

UW-Green Bay men's basketball team will play the Titans at noon Saturday. Tickets for the game at the Resch Center can be bought through Ticket Star between $20 and $50.

The Phoenix women play at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Kress Center, on the UWGB campus. Tickets start at $11.

Family night as Gamblers take on Sioux City

The Green Bay Gamblers hockey team play the Sioux City Musketeers Friday and Saturday at the Resch Center. Both games are at 7:05 p.m. Saturday's game is family night at 7 p.m. Tickets cost between $13 and $26 on Ticket Star. For family night, tickets are discounted for youth 14 and younger and there will be $2 hot dogs and soda. After the game, youth can skate with the Gamblers.
