Things to do: Music at Bishop, Bluebird, Orbit Room; all-ages scavenger hunt, adult recess

Bunches of bands, wintertime fun for people of all ages and the beginning of the High Proof Laughs live comedy series offer a huge variety of options for anyone looking for something to do. Check out local musicians performing at the Bishop, Bluebird and Orbit Room or participate in the 21-plus adult recess events at Twin Lakes Recreation Center. For people interested in learning about rabbits, there's a chance to sample a chef's cuisine at Rose Hill Farm Stop.

Three bands for one price Friday at the Bishop

Local bands Mindfully Blind, Namen Namen and the Stratospheres will perform at 11 p.m. Friday at the Bishop, 123 S. Walnut St. Tickets are $6. Proof of vaccine will be required at the door for the 21-plus show.

Two nights of shows at the Bluebird

Rod Tuffcurls and the Bench Press will play at 9 p.m. Friday at the Bluebird, 216 N. Walnut St. Tickets are $12. Then at 9 p.m. Saturday, Six Foot Blonde will perform along with Street Pennies. Tickets are $10.

Arctic Adventure Saturday at Switchyard Park

Three scavenger hunts with clues to each will lead participants to "treasures" related to winter from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Switchyard Park as part of the Bloomington parks department's Arctic Adventure. Anyone who successfully completes the hunts will win prizes. Admission is $3 per person.

Wintertime recess for adults Saturday at Twin Lakes center

Whatever the weather outside, there will be fun competition and play 7:30 to 10 p.m. Saturday at Adult Winter Recess at Twin Lakes Recreation Center, 1700 W. Bloomfield Road. Participants will play recess games from your youth, including four square, kickball and dodgeball. "Throwback" video games will be playing in the lounge and photo booth and music from the 1980s through 2000s will set the mood. Beer and wine will be available for purchase. Admission is $5 per person for the 21-plus crowd.

Saturday, Feb. 18 at the Orbit Room

Local musicians Ben Fowler and Tim Baker perform 6 p.m. Saturday at the Orbit Room, 107 N. College Ave., Suite 001. Tickets are $11 and table reservations for four people are $15.

High Proof Laughs comedy series begins with Galentine's Day show

Cardinal Spirits' High Proof Laughs comedy series is back at the distillery, kicking off with a Galentine's Day on Sunday. This is the fifth season for High Proof Laughs, a collaboration with Limestone Comedy Festival. Limestone chooses the comedians (Mandee McKelvey is headlining along with Erin Depke and Shannon Rostin), Cardinal shakes the cocktails, and ticket sales benefit a local charitable organization.

Pop-up lunch and farm feature Sunday at Rose Hill Farm Stop

Chef Erika Yochum and Lessie Lennon will lead a pop-up lunch and farm feature 1-3 p.m. Sunday at Rose Hill Farm Stop, 902 W. Kirkwood Ave. Yochum will serve rabbit handpies and vegan turnip soup while Lennon from Celtic Glen Heritage Livestock will share her knowledge of rabbits.
