Celebrate Veterans Day weekend with a parade Saturday, the annual Rotary Pancake Day, Vet 2 Vet at The Factory, Baker Elementary's Fall Festival and Down a Country Road art exhibit at Theta General Store.

1. Downtown Parade and Rotary Pancake Day

The Maury County Veterans Day Parade will be Saturday in Downtown Columbia on Veterans Day to honor all who have served. The parade will begin at 11 a.m. at Columbia Plaza on West 7th Street.

It will pass the Memorial Building, turn right onto South High Street next to the James K. Polk Home & Museum, and end at the Mulehouse.

It's that time of year again to load up on a tall stack of flapjacks and continue a Columbia tradition that's lasted more than 60 years.

Columbia Noon Rotary Club's Pancake Day will take place from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at The Memorial Building, 308 W. 7th St.

Dine in or carry out all you can eat the Rotary's "secret recipe" pancakes, sausage and a beverage of your choice. Tickets are $10 or three for $25 and may be purchased at the door or from any Noon Rotary member.

Proceeds from Pancake Day will go toward the Rotary's many charitable projects, including scholarships for local students.

2. Baker Elementary Fall Festival

Baker Elementary will host a Fall Festival and Spaghetti Dinner from 5-7 p.m. Friday. Tickets are $12 for adults and $7 for students.

As the last few weeks of fall come to an end, it's the perfect time to celebrate the season as temperatures dip and the holidays are vastly approaching.

Having a delicious plate of food also does the body good on any occasion.

J.R. Baker Elementary School, 1301 Hampshire Pike, will host its Fall Festival & Spaghetti Dinner from 5-7 p.m. Friday.

Tickets are $12 for adults and $7 for students, and may be purchased at the door. Children ages 5 and under also get in for free.

3. Veterans Day with Vet 2 Vet at The Factory

The Factory at Columbia will host a Veterans Day Celebration with Vet 2 Vet from noon to 7 p.m. Saturday, featuring music, food, artisan vendors and more.

Celebrate Veterans Day this weekend by paying a visit to The Factory at Columbia, 101 N. James M. Campbell Blvd.

The Factory's Vet 2 Vet Veterans Celebration will take place from noon to 7 p.m. Saturday, featuring live entertainment, food, as well as shopping among local artisan vendors and The Factory's growing number of businesses.

There will also be vendors from local veteran organizations set up to provide information on their programs and ways to help local vets in the community. There will also be an Honor Wall for vets to add their name, branch and times of service.

4. Down a Country Road at Theta General Store

Down a Country Road returns to Theta General Store this weekend and will be on display through Dec. 10, featuring unique artwork, books and live music.

Down a Country Road returns this weekend at Theta General Store, 2278 Les Robinson Road.

The unique art exhibit will be featured every weekend from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Dec. 10.

Down a Country Road will feature all sorts of art, books and live music. This year's featured artists include works by Buddy Jackson, John McEuen, Val Adams, Lisa Kavass, Karen Brooks, Kimiko, John Fisher, Nathan Collie, Anne Goetze, and John Partipilo.

Live music will feature performances by Ricky Rector, Suzi Ragsdale, Karen Brooks, and Jamie Kindleyside.

5. Local entertainment

Krystal King will perform at Grinder's Switch Winery, 510 N. Garden St., starting at 6 p.m. Friday.

Andy Liter with Ryan Sauls will perform at McCreary's Irish Pub, 814 S. Main St., starting at 7 p.m. Friday.

Damien Boggs will perform at The Tilted Mule, 102 Depot St., starting at 7 p.m. Saturday.

The Mulehouse, 812 S. High St., will host Pullin' for ZCA Songwriters Night featuring Casey Beathard starting at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are available at www.TheMulehouse.com and include dinner at 6 p.m. Dinner is not included with reserved balcony seats.

Carl Wayne Meekins, Troy Kemp, Katrina Burgoyne and Jimmy Wayne will perform at Puckett's in downtown Columbia starting at 6 p.m. Saturday.

Cave Street will perform at Twisted Copper Brewing Company, 121 S. Main St. in Mt. Pleasant, starting at 7 p.m. Saturday.
