Selena the Show at Pueblo Memorial Hall

1 City Hall Place | Doors open 6:30 p.m., show at 7:30 p.m. | Karla Perez pays tribute to Mexican-American performer Selena with the help of a group of musicians. The show takes the audience on a journey back to the early 1990s as Perez performs Selena's best-loved hits. Cost is $28 and tickets are on sale at pueblomemorialhall.com.

Health Fair at Colorado State University Pueblo

Occhiato Center, 2200 Bonforte Blvd. | 7 a.m. to noon | This 365 Health Fair will offer free and affordable preventative health screenings and resources.

Steel City Sporting Clay Tournament at Republic Shooting Range

4960 44th Lane in Avondale | 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. | Health Solutions is hosting the tournament to raise funds for client needs. Advance discounted tickets are available through April 14 for $100 per shooter at health.solutions/scsc or $125 on the day of the event.

Free Pueblo County Veterans Breakfast at Wesley United Methodist Church

9 a.m. | 85 Stanford Ave. | Pueblo County veterans, their families and Blue Star (active military) and Gold Star (those in which a family member has died while serving) families are invited to the monthly event featuring breakfast and a prayer.

Great American Cleanup at Fountain Creek

9 a.m. to noon | The Fountain Creek Watershed District is organizing this cleanup in collaboration with local governments, nonprofits, friends groups and neighborhoods. City Beat Modern Quilters meet at the Senior Resource Development Agency

230 N. Union Ave. | 10 a.m. to noon | Learn how to make a “crumb” quilt. A fun game will be played to share fabric scraps with other attendees. Those who wish can bring a brown lunch bag full of cotton fabric scraps to the meeting for the fabric swap.

Pueblo West Purple Heart Community Event at VFW Post

127 E. Spaulding Ave. | Noon | The ceremony, hosted by the Pueblo West Metropolitan District and the Pueblo West VFW Post 5812, will include a short motorcycle and fire truck parade, the unveiling of a Purple Heart Community roadside sign, comments from Pueblo West Purple Heart recipient Charlie Keen and recognition of local Purple Heart recipients. The ceremony will be followed by a community gathering at the post including food trucks.

23 Starling Drive | 8:30-10:30 a.m. | The Knights of  Columbus will host a breakfast in the church basement featuring pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, green chile, coffee and orange juice.  Cost is $7.

Tuesday, April 18

Light of Hope Luncheon at Pueblo Convention Center

320 Central Main | 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. | Court Appointed Special Advocates will host the luncheon for the first time in three years. Hear about the agency's work and hear an inspiring story from a former youth and volunteer. The event is free. Call 719-583-6326 for reservations.

Free oral, head and neck cancer screenings at St. Mary-Corwin

2004 Lake Avenue | 5:30-7 p.m. | The Dorcy Cancer Center at St. Mary-Corwin Hospital will be offering free oral, head and neck cancer screenings. Appointments are open to the public and involve a painless, non-invasive screening of the head, neck and mouth. The screening takes less than 15 minutes. Due to a limited number of spaces, appointments are strongly encouraged. To register, call 719-557-4548.

National Civics Bee at Sangre de Cristo Arts Center

210 N. Santa Fe. | 6 p.m. | The Pueblo Chamber, in partnership with The Civic Trust of the U.S. Chamber, will host the top 20 middle school students in a live quiz to test their civics knowledge. The event is designed to inspire middle schoolers to become better informed about American democracy, to engage respectfully and constructively in the community, and to build greater trust in others and institutions. Finalists will receive prizes including $500 cash for the first-place winner. The event is free and open to the public.

Open mic night at Blo Back Gallery

131 Spring St. | 6-9 p.m. | The gallery will host an open mic night for performers. Sign up at the event, first come, first served.

Friday, April 21

Girls Mic'd Up at Sangre de Cristo Arts Center

210 N. Santa Fe | Doors open at 6 p.m., program at 7 p.m. | The Junior League of Pueblo will host the event to empower a diverse range of Pueblo women to share their stories. The event will feature two high school juniors who are scholarship awardees. Cost is $25 and tickets can be purchased online at jlofpuelblo.org or for $30 at the door. Because some stories may be triggering, the event is recommended for ages 16 and older.

Flavor of Pueblo vendor deadline

United Way of Pueblo County is set to host its annual Flavor of Pueblo on May 18 at the Pueblo Convention Center. The event offers guests a sampling of tasty southern Colorado food and beverages and is a fundraiser for United Way. Interested vendors can register at pueblounitedway.org/flavor.

Anastasia at Pueblo Memorial Hall

1 City Hall Place | Doors open at 6:30 p.m., show at 7 p.m. | Inspired by the beloved films, Anastasia follows a brave young woman from the twilight of the Russian Empire to the euphoria of Paris in the 1920s as she is pursued by a ruthless Soviet officer determined to silence her and she enlists the aid of a dashing conman. The production features opulent settings, dazzling costumes and a soaring score including the musical favorites from the animated film. Tickets range from $62-$90 and are on sale at pueblomemorialhall.com.

Contra dancing event at Colorado State University Pueblo

2200 Bonforte Blvd., Massari Arena | 6:30-8 p.m. | The Pueblo School of health sciences and human movement is hosting the dancing event. Free and open to the public.
