Girls Mic'd Up at Sangre de Cristo Arts Center

210 N. Santa Fe Ave. | Doors open at 6 p.m., program at 7 p.m. | The Junior League of Pueblo will host the event to empower a diverse range of Pueblo women to share their stories. The event will feature two high school juniors who are scholarship awardees. Cost is $25 and tickets can be purchased online at jlofpueblo.org or for $30 at the door. Because some stories may be triggering, the event is recommended for ages 16 and older.

Food Truck Union at Mineral Palace Park

1600 N Santa Fe Ave. | 11 a.m.to 6 p.m. and again from 11 a.m. to dark Sunday at City Park | More than a dozen local food trucks will be on hand to serve meals and desserts. Gatherings will continue every Friday and Sunday throughout the summer.

Flavor of Pueblo vendor deadline

United Way of Pueblo County is set to host its annual Flavor of Pueblo on May 18 at the Pueblo Convention Center. The event offers guests a sampling of tasty southern Colorado food and beverages and is a fundraiser for United Way. Interested vendors can register at pueblounitedway.org/flavor.

Saturday, April 22

National Drug Take Back event at three locations

Pueblo County sheriff’s substation, 320 Joe Martinez Blvd., Pueblo West | Pueblo Rural Fire Station, 29912 U.S. HWY 50 E. | Valley Health Mart Pharmacy, 4493 Bent Brothers Blvd., Colorado City | 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. | Unwanted and expired prescription medications will be accepted anonymously and disposed of in a safe manner. Event is free.

Earth Day Celebration at El Pueblo History Museum

301 N. Union Ave.| 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. | Free event features Storytellers of the Ancestral Red Road, Colorado State University Pueblo and the Pueblo Levee Project hosting a family-friendly Indigenous music, dance and arts festival. There will be an opportunity to create a collective art piece, plus chalk art and other kid-friendly activities. Food and art will be available for purchase.

Sunday, April 23

Anastasia at Pueblo Memorial Hall

1 City Hall Place | Doors open at 6:30 p.m., show at 7 p.m. | Inspired by the beloved films, Anastasia follows a brave young woman from the twilight of the Russian Empire to the euphoria of Paris in the 1920s as she is pursued by a ruthless Soviet officer determined to silence her and she enlists the aid of a dashing conman. The production features opulent settings, dazzling costumes and a soaring score including the musical favorites from the animated film. Tickets range from $62-$90 and are on sale at pueblomemorialhall.com.

Wednesday, April 26

Contra dancing event at Colorado State University Pueblo

2200 Bonforte Blvd., Massari Arena | 6:30-8 p.m. | The Pueblo School of Health Sciences and Human Movement is hosting the dancing event. Free and open to the public.

Friday, April 28

Photo entries accepted at Steel City Art Works

216 S. Union Ave. | 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday | Entries will be accepted for the annual photography show “Life Lines" which is open to photographers of all abilities. Entry fees are $15 per entry, with a limit of three pieces. For details visit steelcityartworks.org.

Pueblo History and Art Walk Kickoff at Blo Back Gallery

131 Spring St. | 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. | Celebrate art and the history of Pueblo by enjoying guided tours of the neighborhood loops, live music, vendors, raffles and food trucks. Various performances will occur throughout the day.

Saturday, April 29

Enneagram Workshop at First Presbyterian Church

220 W. 10th St. | 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. | Contemplative Outreach of Southern Colorado will host the workshop focusing on the Enneagram, a system of personality typing that describes patterns in how people interpret the world and manage their emotions. Registration and questions should be emailed to info@cpsoco.org. Cost is $30 at the door, and covers all materials, lunch and snacks.

Dia de Los Ninos celebration at Servicios de la Raza

805 W. Fourth St. | 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. | This free community celebration in honor of Servicios de La Raza's one year anniversary serving Pueblo is set to include family-friendly activities, games, food, dancing, COVID-19 vaccines, health screenings, resources, music and a petting zoo.

Pueblo Has Talent Auditions at Pueblo Mall

3429 Dillon Drive | 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. | Free walk-up auditions, limited to 3 minutes per performer, will be held in front of JC Penney. The top 50 contestants will advance to semi finals May 7. Remaining acts will perform for finals on May 21.

Slovenian Heritage exhibit at Pueblo Heritage Museum

201 W. B St. | 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. | Free admission in honor of the new exhibit created in collaboration with the Slovenian Library and Genealogy Museum. Event will include a 1 p.m. ribbon cutting by the Pueblo chamber.

Brew at the Zoo at Pueblo Zoo

3455 Nuckolls Ave. | 2-6 p.m. | Event features craft beverages, live music, local gourmet street eats and some of the rarest animals on the planet. Proceeds from every ticket sold helps the Pueblo Zoo care for exotic and endangered animals locally and globally. General admission is $45 for members or $50 for all others. Tickets are available at pueblozoo.org/brew.
