'Living with Wolves' photographic exhibit at the Pueblo West Library

298 S. Joe Martinez Blvd. | 4 to 6 p.m. | Opening reception with keynote speaker Rain Bear Stands Last and music by flautist Phillip Van Garrick. Event continues from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday with a special kids opening day featuring Shaya, wolf ambassador from the Colorado Wolf & Wildlife Center, Kids Kit2Go and fun activities.

Discovering Pueblo One Sketch at a Time at Liminal Gallery

107 S. Grand Ave. | 5 to 7 p.m. | Opening reception as part of a First Friday Art Walk. Urban Sketchers of Pueblo will have more than a dozen artists showcasing pieces featuring many of Pueblo’s historic buildings, districts and museums. The exhibit at the Pueblo Arts Alliance’s Liminal Gallery is open from noon to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and free sketching and painting classes will be offered on Saturdays.

River Whyless concert at Brues Alehouse

120 Riverwalk Place | 7:30-10 p.m. | The Asheville, North Carolina, rock band boasts four songwriters who are instrumentalists, three of whom are vocalists. They will perform songs from heir new album, "Monoflora." Tickets range from $18 to $60 and are on sale at bruesalehouse.com.

Pueblo Chile Day at the Colorado State Fair

1001 Beulah Ave., Explore Colorado Building | Starting at 11 a.m. | Fresh, certified Pueblo chiles will be roasted and handmade Pueblo chile wraps will be given away for free. The Greater Pueblo Chamber of Commerce and Visit Pueblo also will host a free wood mosaic crafting session from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Movies in the Park at City Park

800 Goodnight Ave. | 7 p.m. | "Beetlejuice" will be shown free of charge on the big screen in the grassy area near the Rides at City Park and playground. There will be concessions and food trucks on site. Bring a blanket or chairs to sit on.

Monday, Sept. 5

Pups in the Pool at City Park Pool

221 S. Parkside Lane | 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.| The pool will be going to the dogs, so bring your favorite four-legged pal for a dip. Dogs must be licensed and current on vaccinations. Visitors are welcome to bring dog toys. The session from 9 to 11 a.m. is for small dogs only, 18 inches and shorter at the shoulder. From noon to 2 p.m., all dogs are welcome, but small dogs can use the wading pool. Cost is $5 per dog, humans are free.

Wednesday: 5 p.m.: Pueblo County sheriff, David Lucero (D) and Joey Musso (R). 6:30 p.m.: Pueblo County Commissioner District 3, Roxy Pignanelli (D) and Zach Swearingen (R.) 8 p.m.: Colorado State Senate District 3, incumbent Nick Hinrichsen (D) and Stephen Varela (R). Boeing B-29 Bombers at Pueblo Municipal Airport

31201 Bryan Circle | 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. | See two Word War II B-29 Bombers, including "Doc" — one of only two in the world still flying. Ground and flight deck tours cost $10 per person or $20 per family. The Weisbrod Aircraft Museum, 31001 Magnuson Ave., also will be open. The event continues from noon to 4 p.m. Sept. 10-11.

You Should’ve Seen It: Pueblo’s Mineral Palace Exhibit at El Pueblo History Museum

301 N. Union Ave. | 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily | Artifacts, archival documents, historic photographs, newspaper clippings and more to tell the story of a palace built in 1891 to showcase Colorado’s mineral riches. Admission is $7 for adults, $5 for older adults or free for children and members. The exhibit runs through April 1, 2024.

Campapalooza at City Park's Lake Joy

800 Goodnight Ave. | 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. | The Boys & Girls Clubs of Pueblo County and Boreas Campers will introduce young people to the joys of camping and outdoor activities. The free event will feature hands-on outdoor activities complete with camping and safety tips, fishing, trail mix making and outdoor crafts. Hot dogs will be served.

Latino Lifetime Achievement Awards at Colorado State University Pueblo

Occhiato Ballroom, 2200 Bonforte Blvd. | 6 p.m. | The Pueblo Latino Chamber Foundation event will honor Pueblo native Jeff Valdez for his contributions to the Hispanic community. Valdez is an inspiring movie producer who has earned various prestigious movie awards and worked to gain Latino representation in television and media. He is credited with paving the way for past movie stars and future movie stars throughout the Latino community. The 15th annual event will include a night of celebration, networking, giveaways and more. Tickets are $75 per person and can be purchased by calling the Latino Chamber at 719-542-5513 or on Eventbrite.

320 Central Main St. | 6:30 p.m. | "The Case for Christ" Author Lee Strobel will give the keynote address to a sold out crowd.
