Community Literacy Event at Rawlings Public Library

100 E. Abriendo | 2 p.m. | South Central Colorado Head Start will host fun activities for young kids and a story time. Various community agencies will be there to share resource information.

131 Spring St. | 6 p.m. | "Flow Rate," a performance art piece, will be created by Helen Dunn, Bob Marsh, Matte Refic and Julie Kim.

'Life Sucks' performance at Steel City Theater

241 S. Santa Fe Ave. | Doors open at 6 p.m. for dinner and cocktails, shows at 7:30 p.m. March 10, 11, 17 and 18; matinee shows at 1:30 p.m. March 11, 12, 18 and 19 | In this brash reworking of Chekhov’s Uncle Vanya featuring a cast of professional actors, "Life Sucks" is about a group of old friends, ex-lovers, estranged in-laws and lifelong enemies who gather to grapple with life. Fish Fry at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church

421 Clark St. | 6-9 p.m. | The Knights of Columbus will offer dine-in or take-out options. Dinner includes fish, coleslaw, a baked potato and roll. Cost is $10 for two fish or $8 for one fish. Desserts and soda also will be available for purchase. To-go orders can be placed with Jesus Chavira at 719-281-1241, or Peter Velasquez at 719-544-4419. Proceeds will benefit the church and council.

Just Between Friends Kids Consignment event at Pueblo Convention Center

320 Central Main | 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and again from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday | Kids gear and clothing consignment event offers everything you need for growing kids under one roof. Admission is $1.

Pueblo Home & Garden Show at Colorado State Fairgrounds

Palace of Agriculture, 1001 Beulah Ave. | 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., March 11-12 | More than 100 vendors will showcase products and services that focus on remodeling, rebuilding and renovation ideas and products for homes, yards and other living spaces. Tickets are $5 at the door, while military and seniors pay $4 and children 18 and younger are admitted free.

Metal music at Blo Back Gallery

131 Spring St. | 7-8 p.m. | This real-time cartographic improvisation uses projected, manipulated digital maps byEric Theise, in live collaboration with Bob Marsh’s Spontaneous Combustion Arts Performance Ensemble. There will be occasional strobing effects that may impact photosensitive viewers. Suggested donation is $5 to $10.

Spanish Nights at Pueblo Memorial Hall

1 City Hall Place | Doors open at 6 p.m., show at 7 p.m. | Benise - Fiesta, is an Emmy-award winning guitar and dance show featuring "The Prince of Spanish Guitar" Benise and his dancers. Adventure through Spanish Flamenco, Cuban Salsa, Brazilian Samba, Parisian Waltz, exotic drumming and more. The show features classic rock anthems from Led Zeppelin and AC/DC infused with Spanish guitar and dance to bring new interpretations to the audience. Saturday, March 18

Saint Joseph Table at St. Joseph Catholic Church

1145 S. Aspen Road, Blende | 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and again from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday | More than 60 families have made breads, cakes, cookies, pasta dishes and other items for display on Saint Joseph's Table, one of the largest tables in Pueblo. Included on the table are flowers, vegetables, fruits, colored eggs and decorated fish, but no meat, as the feast day is during Lent. The tradition of St. Joseph tables originated in Sicily as a way to thank and honor the saint for a bountiful harvest despite a long drought.
