Fish Fry at Christ the King Church

1708 Horseshoe Drive | 4-6:30 p.m. every Friday through March 31 | The Knights of Columbus will serve up fried or baked fish, potatoes, veggie, coleslaw, roll, dessert and drink. Cost is $12 for adults or $8 for children 12 and younger. All proceeds go to numerous charities in Pueblo County.

'Life Sucks' performance at Steel City Theater

241 S. Santa Fe Ave. | Doors open at 6 p.m. for dinner and cocktails, shows at 7:30 p.m. March 17-18; matinee shows at 1:30 p.m. March 18-19 | In this brash reworking of Chekhov’s "Uncle Vanya" featuring a cast of professional actors, "Life Sucks" is about a group of old friends, ex-lovers, estranged in-laws and lifelong enemies who gather to grapple with life. Spanish Nights at Pueblo Memorial Hall

1 City Hall Place | Doors open at 6 p.m., show at 7 p.m. | Benise - Fiesta, is an Emmy-award winning guitar and dance show featuring "The Prince of Spanish Guitar" Benise and his dancers. Adventure through Spanish Flamenco, Cuban Salsa, Brazilian Samba, Parisian Waltz, exotic drumming and more. The show features classic rock anthems from Led Zeppelin and AC/DC infused with Spanish guitar and dance to bring new interpretations to the audience. Tickets range from $28 to $78 and are available online at pueblomemorialhall.com.

Saturday, March 18

Free Veterans Breakfast at Wesley United Methodist Church

85 Stanford Ave. | 9 a.m. | Pueblo County veterans, their families and Blue Star (active military) and Gold Star (those in which a family member has died while serving) families are invited to the monthly event featuring breakfast and a prayer.

Saint Joseph's Table at St. Joseph Catholic Church

1145 S. Aspen Road, Blende | 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and again from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday | More than 60 families have made breads, cakes, cookies, pasta dishes and other items to display on Saint Joseph's Table, one of the largest in Pueblo. Included on the table are flowers, vegetables, fruits, colored eggs and decorated fish, but no meat, as the feast day is during Lent. The tradition of St. Joseph's tables originated in Sicily as a way to thank and honor the saint for a bountiful harvest despite a long drought.

"Brave the Shave" for St. Baldricks at Pueblo West VFW

127 E. Spaulding Ave. | 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. | The 12th annual head shaving event is hosted by the Super Team from the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office. The event will feature activities and raise funds for childhood cancer research grants.

St. Joseph's Table and Mass at Shrine of Saint Therese

300 Goodnight Ave. | Table viewing from 9-10:45 a.m. and noon-5:45 p.m. followed by mass at 6 p.m. | Bishop Stephen Berg will preside over mass and the blessing of the church's Saint Joseph's Table.

Wednesday, March 22

Half-price day at Pueblo Zoo

3455 Nuckolls Ave. | 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. | Half-price admission in honor of spring break. Cost is $7 for adults, $5 for children ages 3 to 17, $5.50 for seniors or military, $3.50 for military children or $3 for a family of four for Museums for All families with electronic benefit transfer EBT cards.

Mountain Doctor program at Barkman Library

1300 Jerry Murphy Road | 3 p.m. | Learn about "Doc" Susie Anderson, who moved to Frazier to heal herself of tuberculosis, and why she stayed there to work as a doctor for nearly a half-century.

Donate to Skate event at Blo Back Gallery

131 Spring St. | 2 p.m. and again 6-9 p.m. | Friends of the Skateboarding Arts will host live music by Aeturnum Miserae, Scrotus and P.I.D. All ages are welcome. Cost is $10.

Saturday, March 25

Mile High Bully Bash and Pet Vendor Expo at Pueblo Convention Center

320 Central Main St. | 9 a.m. doors open, first show 11 a.m. | This all-day event will feature four American Bully Kennel Club dog shows, 100 pet vendor booths and family friendly fun. Cost to enter is $20 per person and $10 per dog or free for 12 and younger contestants. Open to the public. General admission is $23. Get tickets at the Pueblo Memorial Hall box-office or online at etix.com.

Writers Workshop at Rawlings Library

100 E. Abriendo Ave. | 2-4 p.m. | Local authors Bryan Asbury and Mark Baldwin will discuss their latest work, how to get published and the highs and lows of getting creative work into the market. A question and answer session will follow the presentation. Refreshments will be provided.

Free Quilt Show at El Pueblo History Museum

301 N. Union | 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. | More than 100 quilts will be on display and the event will include raffle prizes and demonstrations. Show runs daily through April 8, except Sunday.
