Tribute Gala honoring women at Pueblo Community College

Fortino Ballroom, 900 W. Orman Ave. | 5:30-8:30 p.m. | The Young Women's Christian Association event honors women who provide healing and promote hope. The 2022 Anna Taussig Awards, in honor of the former University of Southern Colorado foreign language instructor and longtime YWCA volunteer, will be presented. Cost is $80 per person, $560 for a table of eight, or $700 for a table of 10. Tickets are available at ywcapueblo.org.

Saturday, Oct. 22

Heart of a Lion chin-up challenge at Pueblo Zoo

3455 Nuckolls Ave. | 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. | Pueblo native Frank Sagona, 43, will attempt to break the world record for outdoor chin-ups adjacent to the African lion enclosure. He wants to challenge the existing 24-hour record of 5,340 chin-ups and land another spot in the Guinness World Record book, where he is currently listed as record-holder for most chin-ups in the 8- and 12-hour divisions. The public is invited to cheer him on.

Cops vs. Bikers Toy Bowl at Dutch Clark Stadium

1001 W. Abriendo Ave. | 11 a.m. | The 45th annual flag football game will help bring a lot of happiness to children this holiday season. Admission is $5 or a new unwrapped toy. All proceeds will be shared among 18 local agencies.

A Choreographic Ritual Presentation at El Pueblo History Museum

301 N. Union Ave. | 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. | A performance by Helanius Wilkins in collaboration with A. Ryder Turner will focus on dance and social change work, confrontation, celebrating heritage, resiliency, justice and hope. The duo will "stitch together a dance quilt to broaden our understandings of what it means to be American and sew ourselves together anew." The event is free.

Living with Wolves at Colorado State University

Life Science Auditorium, 2200 Bonforte Blvd. | 5:30 p.m. | Rick McIntyre, Yellowstone wolf researcher, author and storyteller will be the featured speaker as part of the Living With Wolves program. The event is open to the public.

Shop, sip and be scary at Rocky Mountain SER Empowerment Center

330 Lake Ave. | 5-8 p.m. | The event will feature small business booths, a costume contest, drinks and appetizers. Sponsored by Southern Colorado Small Business Development Center and Rocky Mountain Service, Employment and Redevelopment.

We Are Messengers Wholehearted Tour at Pueblo Memorial Hall

1 City Hall Place | Doors open at 6 p.m., show at 7 p.m. | The Christian rock band We Are Messengers, along with Jordan St. Cyr and Ryan Ellis, will perform their Christian Airplay and Billboard charting hits. Tickets cost $28, $45 and $55 and are sold at pueblomemorialhall.com.

Trunk or Treat at Pueblo Regional Center

270 W. John Powell Blvd. Pueblo West | 1-4 p.m. | Free event featuring bounce house, face painting, games, music food trucks and more. The event is sensory and allergy friendly. Open to the public.

Guys and Dolls for Scholars Banquet and Dance at Union Depot

132 W. B St. | 5:30-10 p.m. | Help celebrate newspaperman and author Damon Runyon as Pueblo’s son and raise scholarship funds for journalism, history, English and mass communication students attending Colorado State University Pueblo and Pueblo Community College. Former Chieftain Managing Editor Steve Henson will be master of ceremonies, and the evening will include Runyon period clothing and hat displays, a performance by Kennedy Pugh, student remarks, plus dancing to music of the era. Pueblo West Fire Station 2 site dedication

715 S. McCulloch Blvd. West | 10 a.m. to noon | Pueblo West Metro District and Nunn Construction staff will detail plans for the new Fire Station 2. The events are free and open to the public.

Health Fair at Word of Faith Christian Center

3939 Redwood Lane | 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. | 365 Health is hosting free and low-cost preventable health screenings as a resource for the underserved, those with high-deductible insurance plans or those with no insurance at all. Available screenings are listed at 365health.org.

Fright Night at the Riverwalk

125 Riverwalk Place | 3 p.m. costume contest registration, 4 p.m. trick-or-treating | A fun and kid-friendly Halloween Fright Night where kids can trick-or-treat at the many tables set up by local businesses. A costume contest will offer fun prizes.

Trunk or Treat in Pueblo West

70 E. Spaulding Ave. | 3-5:30 p.m. | Candy, prizes, food trucks and games will highlight the family-friendly event sponsored by local businesses.

El Centro del Quinto Sol's Trunk or Treat

609 E. Sixth St. | 5-8 p.m. | Join Pueblo Parks & Recreation for an evening of outdoor family fun including Halloween games and activities for all ages as well as cool custom cars at the Trunk or Treat.

Rodney Carrington at Pueblo Memorial Hall

1 City Hall Place | Doors open at 6 p.m., show at 7 p.m. | The stand-up comedian, actor, country music artist and songwriter will bring his "Let Me In" tour to Pueblo. Tickets cost $49.50, $69.50 and $199.50, and are sold at pueblomemorialhall.com.

Southern Colorado Astronomical Society stargazing at Lake Pueblo

Visitors Center, 640 Pueblo Reservoir Road | 6:30 p.m. slideshow, 7:30 p.m. telescope viewing | The event is open to the public. Stargazers are also reminded a lunar eclipse will start at 2:09 a.m. on Nov. 8 with totality beginning at 3:16 a.m.

Monday, Oct. 31

Trick or Treat Street at the Pueblo Mall

3429 Dillon Drive | 1-7 p.m. | The event kicks off at 1 p.m. with the Hotel Transylvania movie marathon. A costume contest for children up to 10 years old will start at 4 p.m. in the JCPenney court. There will be three prizes awarded in each age group with a grand prize $100 gift card. Trick-or-treating through the mall will run from 5 to 7 p.m. The first 1,000 visitors will receive a complimentary trick-or-treat bag for children 12 and younger.

Trick or Treat Street at Pueblo West Mini Storage

359 E. Enterprise Drive | 4-6 p.m. | The trick-or-treat event will include Halloween fun for the whole family. Open to the public.

Walk through Trunk or Treat near Pueblo Police Department

200 S. Main St. | 5-7 p.m. | Costumed children are invited to the walk-through candy collection Halloween event at the parking garage between the AT&T office building at 100 S. Main St. and The Pueblo Municipal Justice Center at 200 S. Main St.
