"Life Lines" photo exhibit at Steel City Art Works

216 S. Union Ave. | 5-8 p.m. | This photography exhibit featuring the work of local shutterbugs will include complimentary, festive refreshments for Cinco de Mayo, the Tom Ossner “Trout on the Route” art sculpture and a book signing with guest author Rebecca Nolting, author of “Pieces of Faith.” The photo exhibit will run throughout May.

Culturas De Aztlan at Pueblo Heritage Museum

201 W. B St. | 5-8 p.m. | A Cinco De Mayo art show and sale will feature the work of Tonio LeFebre. The event will include appetizers and a chance to meet the artist. The event is free but donations will be accepted. The show will run throughout the month of May.

Makers in May exhibit at Liminal Space Gallery

107 S. Grand Ave. | 5-8 p.m. | Scott Farmer will display a variety of artwork in stained glass, hand-dyed fabric, quilts, rag rugs and more. Complimentary refreshments and light hors d'oeuvres will be served. Sweet Bouquet Quartet will provide music.

First Friday Art Walk at Blo Back Gallery

131 Spring St. | 6-9 p.m. | The event will feature an Invitational Artificial Intelligence Art and Tech Exhibition highlighting seven local artists. An after party set for 8-10 p.m. will feature music with DJ Jojo, and fresh Mexican-style refreshments will be available. Cost is $5.

Joe T. Ulibarri Tostada at the Sangre de Cristo Arts Center

210 N. Santa Fe Ave. | Cocktails at 6 p.m., dinner and program at 7 p.m. | The Latino Chamber Foundation will "roast" Andrea Aragon, former president of the Latino Chamber and United Way who currently serves as executive director of the Robert Hoag Rawlings Foundation. The lighthearted event will feature mild insults and laughs for a good cause. Cost is $50 per person and tickets are on sale at Eventbrite or by calling the Latino Chamber of Commerce at 719-542-5513.

Environmental Health Workshop at Rocky Mountain SER

330 Lake Ave. | 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. | The event will include soil screening for lead, free blood testing for lead, health information and free children's activities and giveaways.

Fountain Creek Family Fest at El Centro del Quinto Sol

609 E. Sixth St. | 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. | Fountain Creek Watershed will host water education, free giveaways, art activities, live birds of prey, live music and dancing, plus food trucks. The event is free and open to the public.

The Great Pueblo Sleepout at Colorado State University

Art and Lorraine Gonzales Stadium, 2200 Bonforte Blvd. | 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. | This Pueblo Rescue Mission fundraiser will have participants sleeping outside in solidarity with the unhoused. The event will feature food, beverages, raffle prizes and onsite restrooms.

Sunday, May 7

Pueblo Has Talent Semi Finals at Pueblo Memorial Hall

1 City Hall Place | 3 p.m. | Both the audience and judges will vote for the top 25 acts out of 50 contestants. Cost is $13. Finals will be held May 21, also at Pueblo Memorial Hall.

Tuesday, May 9

Great Pueblo Flood documentary at Blo Back Gallery

131 Spring St. | 6:30 p.m. | The historic documentary detailing the 1921 flood will be followed by a question-and-answer session with Samuel Ebersole, writer and producer. Call 719-252-5389 for reservations.

Colton Dixon concert at Pueblo Memorial Hall

1 City Hall Place | Doors open at 6 p.m., show at 7 p.m. | Former American Idol contestant Colton Dixon will perform with Jordan St. Cyr and Apollo Ltd. Cost is $23-$73 and tickets are on sale at pueblomemorialhall.com.

131 Spring St. | 6-9 p.m. | A live model will be provided. Bring drawing supplies. Cost is $15.

Friday, May 12

Art After Hours at Sangre de Cristo Arts Center

210 N. Santa Fe | 6-7:30 p.m. | The event will feature drinks and an exclusive tour of the exhibit, "The Golden Hour: King Collection." The talk will offer insight into the collection of art that has been accumulated by Francis King and the significance of the collection to southern Colorado. Cost is $10 for nonmembers or $8 for members.

Punk show at Blo Back Gallery

131 Spring St. | 7-10:30 p.m. | Show to feature PID, Punch Your Boss, Hate Season and more. Cost is $5 and a canned good or $7 without the food. Some proceeds will benefit Pueblo United.

May Daze Open chess tournament at City Park

George Williams Pavilion next to the fountain, 800 Goodnight Ave. | 10 a.m. with registration starting at 9 a.m. | The Pueblo Chess Club will host the single day, unrated chess tournament. Clocks will be used. Cost to enter is $10. Cash prizes of $40 for first place, $20 for second place and $15 for third place will be awarded. Chess club meets at 5 p.m. every Monday at the pavilion and there are no dues.

Car Show at Salvation Army

401 S. Prairie Ave. | 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with registration starting at 9 a.m. | This show is open to all cars, trucks and motorcycles. The event will benefit the Salvation Army Youth Programs and include a silent auction, door prizes, food, music and more. Preregister for $20 by emailing diane.gonzales@usw.salvationarmy.org or pay $25 on the day of the event.

Blooms at the Buell Children's Museum

210 N. Santa Fe. | 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. | Celebrate a special woman in your life by painting a flower pot in the Artrageous Studio and choosing a flower from the pop-up flower shop.

Sneak Peek of The Rides at City Park

3425 Nuckolls Ave. | 1-4 p.m. | The Rides at City Park will be open for a sneak peek and tickets are still only 25 cents. The rides will officially open on Memorial Day Weekend.

The Blast from Proms Past in Beulah

The Tucita, 8881 Grande Ave. | 7 p.m. | This adult prom encourages participants to dress in prom attire from their era. The Beulah Valley Arts Council is sponsoring the event. Cost is $10 and advance tickets are available at the General Store, The Market and The Stompin' Grounds. There will be a cash bar.

Punk show at Blo Back Gallery

131 Spring St. | 7-9 p.m. | Montana-based band N.I.A.T. will bring its grindcore to the Big Blo Stage and will be joined by local punk groups. Cost is $10.

Thursday, May 18

Flavor of Pueblo at Pueblo Convention Center

320 Central Main St. | 5-7:30 p.m. | United Way will host its 18th annual Flavor of Pueblo event. Participants can sample food and drink from local restaurants, food trucks, breweries and more. Cost is $30 in advance or $35 at the door. Tickets are on sale at pueblounitedway.org/flavor.

Open Mic Night at Blo Back Gallery

131 Spring St. | 6-9 p.m. | Sign-up for performers is 6 p.m. and the show starts at 6:30 p.m. Refreshments and food will be available. The event is free.
