Queen tribute band during Jackson Community Festival

Queen Flash will headline Friday's concert during the Jackson Community Festival at North Park.

Music will be from 8:30 to 11 p.m. at the Jackson Amphitheater.

Prior to the Queen tribute, LaFlavour will perform 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday.

The free concerts are at the amphitheater is at 7454 Community Parkway, which is part of North Park, 7660 Fulton Road NW, and across from Jackson High School.

Erick Brooke's Michael Stanley Tribute performs 8 to 10:30 p.m. Thursday as part of the community festival.

The Jackson Community Festival continues from 5 to 11:30 p.m. Friday, starting off with a car show.

Saturday's entertainment features Whiskey Loco from 5 to 6:30 p.m., which plays country music influenced by rock and roll. Headlining Saturday's music is a Jason Aldean tribute artist from 8:30 to 11 p.m.

The Canton Symphony Orchestra will perform "Triumphant Tchaikovsky" at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

"Filled with soaring romantic melodies and splendid grandeur, Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto is sure to grab your heart and not let go," the symphony said in promoting the event.

The piece was originally scheduled for March 2020, the first concert that was cancelled due to the pandemic. Saturday's concert features award-winning soloist Jinjoo Cho.

The Third Symphony of Jean Sibelius opens the concert.

The symphony is followed by a piece that it inspired – Rick Robinson’s Essay No. 1 “After Sibelius.” Robinson was a member of the bass section of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra for more than 20 years, and has performed numerous times with the Canton Symphony, the orchestra said on its website.

The concert is at Umstattd Hall, 2331 17th St. NW in Canton, at the Zimmermann Symphony Center.

"Fabulous Forties: A Cavalcade of Big Band Hits" will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Canton Palace Theatre.

Presented by American Musical Production, the concert features Joseph Rubin and his orchestra and vocalist Jay Spencer. The Palace Theatre is at 605 N Market St. in downtown Canton.

Tickets are $26 and can be purchased online in advance at https://cantonpalacetheatre.org/, by phone at 330-454-8172 and at the door.

The concert will feature 1940s hits “Chattanooga Choo Choo,” “Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree” and “I’ve Got a Lovely Bunch of Coconuts,” along with a tribute to the greatest big bands, including Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Harry James, Duke Ellington and Artie Shaw.

For the first time on the Palace stage since 1949, the concert will also feature the original arrangements of Freddy Martin and His Orchestra.

Motor City Music Revue will be presented on Saturday at La Pizzaria, 3656 Dressler Road NW in Jackson Township.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for the dinner and show, which cost $39.95. Reservations are required by calling 330-327-2087 or can be made online through Eventbrite at https://www.eventbrite.com/ by searching for La Pizzaria.

Dinner features chicken parmesan, sides, salad, roll, beverage and dessert.

Stardust Dinner Theatre and Spotlight Entertainment are presenting the Motown tribute concert, including the songs of Diana Ross & The Supremes, The Temptations, the Four Tops, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson, Mary Wells and The Contours.

Music will be performed live in the Crystal Room with a full band and singers.

A demolition derby will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Stark County Fairgrounds.
