Big Holloween is from 4-6 pm. at Big Hollow Creek Recreation Area Campground. This all-ages public event features trick-or-treating among the campers, hayrack rides, costume contest, a bonfire and s’more roasting.

Fright Night in the Campground is at 7 p.m. at Big Hollow Creek Recreation Area. Big Holloween continues with spooky park-after-dark fun, including live music from Cedar County Cobras and Haunted Hayrack rides through the “Timber of Terror.” There is a $5 per person charge for the Haunted Hayrack.

Sunday, Oct. 9

Changing Leaves Paddle at 1 p.m. at Geode State Park. Southeast Iowa Kayakers will host a group paddle at Lake Geode to mark the end of the paddling season. All are welcome. Launch your craft from the beach ramp, main dock or the new handicapped-accessible canoe and kayak launch, then paddle to the beach area to connect with the group.
