Things to do this weekend: Disco, baking, reptiles

(WHTM) — Snow and cold temperatures have been hitting Central Pennsylvania over the last few weeks, but despite the weather, the Midstate is still hot with things to do this weekend. Here is abc27’s list of recommendations for Friday, January 19 to Sunday, January 21.

Harrisburg area

3rd in the Burg — Harrisburg’s January “3rd in the Burg” event is happening this Friday, January 19. For the full list of events, which features live music, art galleries, and more, see the 3rd in the Burg website.

The Great Broad Street Bake-Off — This Saturday, the Broad Street Market will host its “Great Broad Street Bake-Off” from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. At the event vendors and local business owners will vie for the perfect pie. The community is invited to attend and bring a suggested donation of $5.

Lancaster area

Reptile Meet & Greet — That Fish Place – That Pet Place in Lancaster is hosting a Reptile Experience Meet and Greet this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Visitors to the event and up-close and personal with some reptiles, grab some swag, and even donate to take a photo with a snake. Live Birds of Prey Show — Oregon Dairy in Lititz is hosting a Live Birds of Prey show at this Warehouse Theatre at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. The event will include discussions of the ecology of each animal, their unique characteristics, eating habits, and ecosystems. Disco Fever — Mickey’s Black Box in Lititz is having a disco night this Saturday. Doors will open at 7 p.m. and the show will start at 8 p.m. To find out more, head to the venue’s website.

Eine Kleine Nachtmusik — The York Symphony Orchestra will perform Mozart’s “Eine Kleine Nachtmusik” this Saturday evening at the Appell Center for the Performing Arts.
