Carlos Mencia

The comedian is back in El Paso with shows at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and 7:30 and 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Comic Strip, 1201 Airway Blvd. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $27.50 and $37.50, available online at https://www.laff2nite.com/shows/178470.

Album release show

El Paso musician Tony Ramirez will celebrate his album release starting at 8 p.m. Friday at Old Sheepdog Brewery, 3900 Rosa Ave. Also performing will be As the City Sleeps, Kumomi and Tale of Giants.

Plant-powered Market

Galeria Lincoln, 3915 Rosa Ave., will feature music, art, plants and vegan options from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday. Performing will be System.A from 7 to 8 p.m., Buddah XO from 8 to 9 p.m., Tae Zu from 9-10 p.m. and Apss’wan from 10 to 11 p.m.

DeadBeach Luau

The brewery Downtown, at 406 S. Durango St., will have its annual luau starting at 11 a.m. Saturday. Enjoy Hawaiian-themed food. Dress in your Hawaiian best. Free admission.

Wedding and Quince Expo

Organized by Studio 7 Events & Design, the first Wedding and Quince Expo will be from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at 11444 Rojas Drive. The event will include cake tasting, treats and a variety of vendors. Free admission.

Hal Marcus Gallery online auction

The Hal Marcus Gallery is holding a summer art auction. The four-day event begins at 6 p.m. Aug. 25 and ends at 6 p.m. Aug. 28. It features 43 works by 24 local artists. Juan Gabriel parade

Dancers, musicians and floats will be part of a parade in Juárez in honor of the sixth anniversary of the death of Mexican music legend Juan Gabriel. The parade will be at 10 a.m. Sunday on Avenida Heroico Colegio Militar at Avenida Plutarco Elias Calles and will run west next to the Chamizal Park to the Pope Francis Monument at El Punto.

A concert “Siempre en mi Mente” in memory of the Juan Gabriel will feature local bands and musical acts at 7 p.m. Monday at the Plaza de la Mexicanidad at The X monument in Juárez.
